True compassion and nuance is sometimes and often really fucking annoying and hard to do. And that's why it's hard. Compassion is as complex and difficult as people are. That's the point.

Imagine being a humanist who's barely 5'3" (1,60 cm) with a mushroom haircut and has to know that he's going to die because a man who looks like this decided it. 😭
wait Thomas More was around my height
Wtf
I know Erasmus was 4'11" or 5' at most but I thought Thomas More was around 5'5" to 5'7" or an average height

I wish there was a recording of Coolidge playing his harmonica. Or even just a picture. But since there isn't one (as far as I know), here's my rendering of what it looked like:
Beautiful
Do the presidents get to celebrate Halloween? They deserve to dress up as treat
Yes!! The custodians make sure to keep things festive for morale! I’m sure some presidents are less excited about dressing up than others, but they have the choice :).
I imagine Calvin Coolidge in this for Halloween
A ghost costume with lots of holes
Oh Calvin Coolidge, they could never make me hate you.
I'll tell my children that this was the real Thomas More, that I took the picture myself.
I think the full photo is even better.
Well obviously it is Thomas More, it's the same picture
Spin the wheel. Now, imagine you're on a first date with someone who says they`re a [result]. How does this affect the odds of a second date?
100% guarantee I'll want a second date
It's significantly more likely
The odds don't change
It's significantly less likely
There wont be a second date. Absolutely not

I know about the original luddites and the idea of actually destroying the machine is interesting to me
It's not a guarantee tho
i think one of the worst things the left wing internet ever did was push the idea that oppression is basically a virtue, and being oppressed is a sign of your morality. it has made it like…impossible for some of you to hold the idea that most people are privileged in some ways and oppressed in others. AND a lot of you seem to have it in your mind that terrible people cannot be oppressed, and that oppressed people cannot do terrible things, which is a dangerous rhetoric to hold imo.

Steven: My three favorite things are the oxford comma, irony, and missed opportunities.
I’ve been seeing a bunch of videos about immigration in The Netherlands on my fyp recently and it got me thinking about my own experiences as a Turkish person born and raised in Belgium
because like. these people keep yelling go back to your own country. but this is my country. I was born and raised here, I am by all means belgian
but at the same time my parents are Turkish, I grew up speaking Turkish and eating Turkish food at the dinner table, making friends with other Turkish kids I met in the mosque on weekends. I have Turkish blood in my veins.
Both countries are my country. But they’re also both not.
In Turkiye I’m too belgian, in Belgium I’m too Turkish, it’s like neither country will ever fully accept me
And that’s something that people from non immigrant backgrounds will never understand
bro chances are that if politics doesn't work out for me I will move to the Netherlands or England.
Of course this type of shit is now showing up in Europe.
damn mutual I don’t engage with that media you’re into but my congrandolances on the situation
