Happy birthday Mrs. Ice! This year I decided to blast some more Studio Ghibli characters with the melanin beam- Ashitaka and San from Princess Mononoke. They were a lot of fun to do, and I've already got more SG characters on the roster (I was going to do a whole bunch more for the Melanin Beam Challenge but time makes fools of us all). Anyway, I hope you have a lovely birthday, and thanks for all you do here!

Decided to participate in @creatingblackcharacters Melanin Beam Challenge this year!

I went with Marceline from Adventure Time, she’s one of my favorites from that series.

If she was 100% human, her skin wouldn’t be purple, but since she’s half demon and a vampire I thought I’d give her a more supernatural look. Her hair was probably the most fun aspect to draw.

This is also a bit of an art study because the shows art style is drastically different from my own. It didn’t make sense to me why her skin would be a light gray color when her mother is a Black woman and her dad is, well, blue.
