MY TRIBUTE TO THE LALE & TAUFA FAMILY
Words cannot amount to what I feel right now. I've never had the chance to meet you personally, but thankfully have taken the time out on Facebook to converse with some of you on the Tongan pages inc. Jerry Lale. I wonder to myself why so soon? Why did all 11 of you have to die? But, I keep coming back to the realisation that God is Great. He is a good God, and he needed you Angels more than this world did. And, I thank him tremendously for the love you have given them, the courage for the families grieving.
For a long while now, I've watched Tongans, and Samoans fight over silly things. The irony of two combined families - Tongans, and Samoans have brought us altogether. It saddens me that it had to take a death for this to happen. But, I'm thankful to God. It's a sign that we aren't one nation, or the other. We are one! When Palagi's view us, they don't view us by our nationality. They view us as "Polynesians", "Pacific Islanders", or what I view as derogatory "FOB". The Taufa, and Lale family have brought us altogether. And, for that we must pay our respects to them. R.I.P & 'Ofa Lahi Atu, Neomai.
