if you’ve ripped off my or anyone else’s character design, just know that your character will always be a cheap imitation that will never have the creativity and depth that the original one has.

you are basically ripping off someone’s hard work and trying to pass it off as yours, thinking that taking an easy way out will be somehow okay, when it definitely is not.

your actions might cause more damage than you think where the original character designer might completely stop doing what they love because they don’t want to encounter this kind of disrespect and rudeness again.

if you love someone’s character, instead of being rude and you know,,, a thief, you can always have an option to ask the person who owns the character, a permission to make fancontent of them. idk why this is such a hard concept to grasp for some people but now you know!!!

also don’t even think about defending these thieves with “this happens everywhere, creators should get used to their content being traced and stolen” bc idk why some of you threw your empathy out of the window, but just bc this happens in most fandom and non-fandom spaces, it still doesn’t make it okay and ignoring the problem and giving these people passes will just normalize the issue in hand.
