I genuinely believe that the moment that Fitz pushed time beyond beloved was when he went back for beloved on aslevjal

They were never supposed to love each other, in any world where they didn’t love each other Fitz would have got on the boat back to Buck. But he loved the fool and knew that the fool hated cold. So he went back for him. It’s THAT moment to me that Fitz is the true catalyst.

Yes the scene where Fitz puts the crown on his head is dramatic and monumental and obviously changes things. But I think once he went and got the fool everything else just fell into place. It’s the fact that the fool and him loved each other that was the true change.

beloved does say that love ≠ sex but the context is that every single time fitz has to think about their relationship he alwaysss has to bring it back to sex as an excuse to be avoidant

when he says he loves fitz, he was not simultaneously saying "i expect sex from you," he was saying i love you. every time they get on the topic of their relationship fitz is always like "wtf you want to fuck me rn though???" and fool is like dude i just said "I love you"???

beloved would clearly be down for a sexual relationship with fitz but he respects that fitz is not okay with it yet, internalized homophobia or whatever but still he is just not ready for it and is not comfortable with the idea. so its kind of like "ok i get you dont want to have sex which is why i literally never asked you for that, but did you only love molly for sex? did you have sex with nighteyes because you loved him deeply?"
