heads up that I am NOT talking about asexual fitzloved headcanons but whats with the separate category of people trying to sell fitzloved as having a relationship "purer than sex"…?? that is not actually as much of a progressive thing to do to queer couples in media as some of you think
beloved does say that love ≠ sex but the context is that every single time fitz has to think about their relationship he alwaysss has to bring it back to sex as an excuse to be avoidant
when he says he loves fitz, he was not simultaneously saying "i expect sex from you," he was saying i love you. every time they get on the topic of their relationship fitz is always like "wtf you want to fuck me rn though???" and fool is like dude i just said "I love you"???
beloved would clearly be down for a sexual relationship with fitz but he respects that fitz is not okay with it yet, internalized homophobia or whatever but still he is just not ready for it and is not comfortable with the idea. so its kind of like "ok i get you dont want to have sex which is why i literally never asked you for that, but did you only love molly for sex? did you have sex with nighteyes because you loved him deeply?" (aka not saying "i wouldnt want it" but rather "i never needed it to love you")
i just donntt see where you guys are reading the nonsexual/beyond romance holy connection at all bc that never occurred to me while reading the fool drooling over the magic sexy necklace/ blushing "not of shame but some deeper passion" when they talk about whether the fool wants to bed him or not during the quarrel/when fitz is always obsessively writing abt beloveds hands and waist and color/literally tweaking at the thought of him sleeping with anyone else/the insane sexually charged master/servant roleplay they did for a whole trilogy + literally anything they said to eachother in assassins quest
