Babes Are Wolves EP Launch, feat. Hey Lady! and Red Desert Ocean.
The Catchuppening II: Catch Harder
Sincerest apologies to fans and bands alike - a recent change in work-load now means I no longer get to edit photos between calls, and my precious weekends are usually spent taking more photos, or watching Netflix. I'm easing back a bit until I catch up, and need to try and keep my workload slim, since I don't have the time available to edit nearly as much as I took on board.

Ponytail Kink Demo Launch
The Exeter - 06/02/2016 (sponsored post)
The Villenettes ‘Lady Luck’ Album Launch, feat. Stabbitha and the Knifey-Wifeys, and The Reprobettes (Melb)
Sat 31st January, 2015
Catch-up time, yet again! Cast your minds back to January, where The Villenettes launched their debut album ‘Lady Luck’ (get it here - it’s a banger!). Supporting were Stabbitha and the Knifey-Wifeys and The Reprobettes (Melb).
Screamfeeder: The Early Years, feat. Freak Wave & Diplomat
Been a while. Some cool paid work has got in the way of the hobby stuff, but back on board now with the first of two catch-ups. First, Queensland legends (and all round fucking nice blokes) Screamfeeder, with their The Early Years tour.
Screamfeeder (duo) feat. Tim & Kellie, and Lily Mojito
Operation: Backlog II - The Catchupening (Part IV)
"LUDICROUS SPEED!"
Continuing on the catch-up at pace, now introducing Tim Steward and Kellie Lloyd of Screamfeeder, doing a duo performance at The Grace Emily for their Tim & Kellie tour, which preceded the full Screamfeeder lineup the following night.
Lily Mojito’s Birthday Gig, feat. Lily Mojito, The Rocketeers, Babes Are Wolves, and St. Morris Sinners
Operation: Backlog II - The Catchupening (Part III) "Not Even Skyrim Can Stop Him!"
Latest in my catch-up of gigs, Lily Mojito's (aka, my big sister) birthday gig, featuring Lily Mojito, Babes Are Wolves, The Rocketeers, and St. Morris Sinners!
As before, these blog posts are super simple; no links, dates, or anything that requires too much effort, so I can quickly and easily get them online.
(Small note: Babes Are Wolves have recently changed their guitarist, Adie, for Emily - these shots were prior to the change, and I'm not into revisionist history)
Conchillia, feat. Max Savage
Operation: Backlog II - The Catchupening (Part II) "He's Done More Than One Update This Month!"
Here we go, folks! Second in my long list of gigs to catch up on, Conchillia, featuring the gravelly Max Savage!
As before, I'm in super catch-up mode, so I haven't got song names on the videos, links to the events, or some other details. Enjoy!
Babes Are Wolves, The Aves, Audium, and Flash Fire at The Jade
Operation: Backlog II - The Catchupening (Part I) He’s Back, And This Time He’s Making Less Effort" Over the next week, I’ll be catching up on an enormous backlog of photos taken over the last six-to-eight months. In an effort to get them out as soon as possible, I’ll not be tracking down event dates and links, nor uploading all the bands I shot, nor putting song titles in the videos, or necessarily videos for all the bands I did do video for. Mea culpa and many apologies for delays to bands, or for any that I’ve left out.
(Note: the wonderful Babes Are Wolves gals have changed lineup since whenever the hell this gig was - Adie on guitar is now Emily, who we will undoubtedly be seeing soon. As I’m not a fan of revisionist history, for the sake of continuity, Adie’s photos are included in this set)

The Rocketeers 'Phazer' EP launch, feat. hello, lover, The British Robots, and The Rocketeers.
Friday, 11th July, 2014
You'd be forgiven for thinking you're seeing double - or triple, as it were (quadruple, maybe? I lost count) during this gig; the lovely Larissa Perry performed double duty in both hello, lover, as well as The British Robots, and Mark 'Totally Dave Grohl' Curtis doing double duty in The British Robots, as well as The Rocketeers. All we're missing is for someone to be in both hello, lover and The Rocketeers for the Hellmouth to open.
My first time shooting at Rhino Room, and I think I managed to tame the fearsome poor lighting well enough, saw The Rocketeers releasing their new single, Phazer, which is just as bloody addictive as their last single, Manic Pixie Dream Girl, which I've only just got out of my head, and is now back in it.
Damn it, Cam.
Babes Are Wolves Debut Gig, feat. Molloy, Babes Are Wolves, and Athletic Teenage Joggers
Saturday, 21st July, 2014
I do love a good gig debut, and you'd be forgiven for thinking you'd seen most of these ladies around before - Anna from Villenettes, Casey and Zoe from The British Robots, and Adie from.. well.. Adie. As far as I know, anyway. Ahem. Anyway, this all grrl punk-rock band has formed to sandblast our faces off in the best way possible - think Villenettes with less rockabilly swing and more punching you in the sack until you submit.
Helping give birth to this bouncing bundle of joy are Molloy and Athletic Teenage Joggers
The Timbers 'Lawless' Album Launch, feat. Louise Adams and The Villenettes
Saturday, 17th May, 2014
The only thing better than seeing an amazing band at The Jade is seeing three amazing bands, two of which you'd never heard before, and having your face blown off as a result.
This post, featuring Louise Adams, The Villenettes, and The Timbers - go check 'em out!
Mountbatten 'In The Dark' Album Launch, feat. Jon Mortimer, and It's A Hoax.
Friday, April 25th, 2014 EDITOR'S NOTE: The photos of the additional guitarist (the fella in the Gorillaz shirt) in It's A Hoax should be under the Mountbatten collection, but the code is messed up and I'm too lazy to fix it. You may need to use your mind brain to virtually move him along
So Mountbatten have been a little quiet of late, and you'd be forgiven for thinking that they fell victim to the Adelaide curse and were no longer a Thing - quite fortunately not, however - they've all been busily squirrelled away working on a new album, which we saw launched at The Jade on a cold, wet, and wintery night.
I got a new lens only a day or so previous (a Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 ED lens, for those playing at home) and was keen to try it out - the result, as you can see, are above adequate!
Opening for Mountbatten was the golden-voiced Jon Mortimer, and It's A Hoax. Check out the album here!
Quiet in the Lab!, with Cam McTernan and The British Robots
Saturday, 19th April, 2014
All three bands tonight seem to have been part of Hillside Fest 3.0, but that's hardly difficult given the number of bands on that day.
Up first, nice guy Cam McTernan from The Rocketeers, followed by The British Robots (featuring a blues guy with a harmonica), and Quiet in the Lab! (featuring The Sincerely, Grizzly Extended Boys Choir (Less Sincerely, Grizzly, Plus Spoz).
Oh Pep!
Friday, 11th April, 2014
A gig that took me entirely by surprise, but welcome surprise nonetheless! From Melbourne, we feature Oh Pep!, a folk/pop group that you can't help but love, at a cheeky Friday night double set at The Wheatsheaf Hotel.
Enjoy!
Audio Reign EP Launch, with Guilt Free and The Crown
Saturday, February 8th, 2014
This week, a hard-rock kinda night. Came for my mate Phil's band, Guilt Free, and an early night, and wound up staying and rocking the fuck out to The Crown and Audio Reign.
