apps are in! (*facepalm*)
well, this was actually posted on 8/14/21, but alas! i selected my normal blog where i just read, comment, and occasionally reblog anime stuff.
last week:
woohoo!
last saturday, i officially submitted my application for our local nursing program. since last posting, i have also taken my teas exam and accuplacer, and i'm really, really pleased with how they turned out. (89.3% on the TEAS, with a perfect score in math!)
now's the worst part: the wait. except there's also the embarrassing yet completely-in-my-wheelhouse fact that i applied for the day program instead of the evening/weekend program, and i'm beyond annoyed at myself. i've emailed my adviser twice but haven't received a response. if i don't hear back by tomorrow, i'll probably reach out to the department directly, but serious. what kind of moron am i to click the wrong link.
this is only a few days after calling to ask about transcripts and forgetting to leave my phone number in the voicemail. then calling back and leaving a voicemail in which i paused for, i kid you not, 30 seconds to try to remember my student number (even though i said it perfectly in the previous voicemail) because i was so focused on making sure my actual phone number was right.
with my luck, they'll see who i am and just be, like, 'we would prefer someone who actually can read and leave strings of numbers. try again in two years when the next evening/weekend program opens.' overdramatic, i know. i've been told. but it's embarrassing!
on the plus side, i asked three people i really, really trust to be my references, and they all were incredibly supportive when they agreed to do it, and as far as the rest of my criteria - it's eight possible admission points (your prereq gpa up to 4, 1 if your teas is over 68, another if your teas is over 78, 1 if you are a licensed cna, and 1 if you already took microbiology prior to entering the program), and the only thing i don't have full points on is being a cna (i am not one).
so now we wait! results come in mid-september, so we'll see.
i'll try to post more about the process for my specific school up to this point in a post soon. i want to make this something where it outlined what i wish i could have found when i was getting ready.
