So I have seen a lot of people bringing up the fact that Iād show!Violet instantly accepts Sophie, while she initially rejected Siena, as a part of the family for Benedict, it would look hypocritical. I realize that maybe they might have a point. Show!Violet was strictly against Siena and Anthony getting together so I feel like if she accepted and loved Sophie from the get-go, it would be weird but also the fact that Anthony might have some animosity.
Also, speaking of Siena/Anthony shippers, I really hope they donāt hate on Simone Ashley or Kate for getting together with Anthony. I donāt want Simone to go through racist hate š°
Actually, I donāt think that Show!Violetās attitude towards Siena is irreconcilable with the support she showed Sophie in the book (and eventually on the show).
Violet knew that what Anthony felt for Siena was lust bordering on obsession, not love. This is why she was against the idea of the two of them together. She realised that her oldest was procrastinating on finding a wife and someone with whom he could actually share his life by chasing after Siena. Violet opposed this relationship because it was not a healthy one. And not because Siena wasnāt part of the ton. Her birth has nothing to do with Violetās opposition to their relationship.
Meanwhile, Violet immediately noticed that Sophie and Benedict genuinely loved each other. Which is why she was reluctant to let Sophie go, and later endeavoured to find her way for her son and her former maid to get married. She wouldāve 100% done the same for Anthony and any of her kids, had they actually fallen in love with a working class person. Had he and Siena actually fallen in love, Violet wouldāve accepted and supported Anthonyās choice. But that was very much not the case, hence Violetās insistence that Anthony find someone more suitable.
So no, Violet Bridgerton is not a hypocrite for disliking Anthonyās relationship with Siena and then supporting Benedict and Sophie. She can, however, tell love and obsession apart.
At least to me, the difference between Santhony and Benophie is immense and pretty obvious.

I have done a little on this topic already hereĀ buuuuut Iām a sucker for Anthony as a father so hereās a few more.
Anthony was happy to admit, he felt fairly confident in his abilities as a father by the time Charlotte was born, he loved his sons even if he did privately ache for a little girl who was a perfect copy of Kate. He was working up the courage to ask Kate if maybe sheād want another baby when she beat him too it, Theyād been in the park, Edmund toddling along on his tricycle, Miles in a carrier strapped to Anthonyās back when, Kate whoād been taking a video of their son from the bench marched over to him, stood on her toes and said Letās have another oneĀ in his ear. A year later, Charlotte Edwina Bridgerton is born and Anthony realised he had absolutely no idea what he was doing.
He should have realised that getting his wish for a tiny little Kate Bridgerton would throw his life into absolute chaos. Charlotteās mother, he reasoned privately, was an absolute menace and he should have realised that his daughter would be just the same. And yet, it makes him beam with pride whenever anyone mentions the similarities between his wife and daughter saying I know, isnāt it amazing
He knows that Kate goes out of her way to make sure Charlotte and Mary spoil Anthony, though sheād never admit it. He spent time with the boys, making sure they dote on their mother, doing drawings, baking cakes, all for Kate. And the first time Charlotte bounds into his office with a little crown made out of daisyās her curly hair bouncing, her little voice trilling through the office Daddy I made you something pretty! Anthony has tears in his eyes and he wears the daisy crown for the rest of the day.
Kate proudly admits that one of her favourite things Anthony does with their daughters is dance with them. Every time music is playing Anthony drops into a deep bow in front of one of them saying dramatically Miss Bridgerton, May I have the honour of this dance?Ā And he spins them around the floor one after the other as the girls giggle wildly.Ā
Absolutely loving the Bridgerton and Sons AU and I love the fact that Kate helped out Gregory without wanting to disturb Anthony. That was so sweet and perfect characterisations of their relationship. It made me think- just humouring myself here, not a request or anything- that because Anthony's in Mayfair, all the Bridgerton siblings will randomly crash his place to stay over night or pop in. Which irritates him to know end, especially when he expects to be alone with Kate. Have a fab week!
Kate and Gregory is my favourite dynamic of Kate and all the Bridgerton siblings, and I donāt doubt that she loves them all very much but I think Gregory and Hyacinth probably have a special place in her heart given that they were still quite young when she married Anthony. I was very nervous to write this one (and in fact this whole AU to be honest) because I love their story so much and I wanted to do it justice.Ā
Ahh Anthony and Kateās house has become a real hub for the Bridgerton family, and no one ever knocks. You didnāt ask for it, but let me bother you with some headcanons on the matter under the cut because the ended up being real long
Before Anthony and Kate started dating, Anthonyās house was nice. He had an interior decorator buy and arrange the furniture so it looked straight from the pages of a magazine. Violet would often tut around the kitchen when she was there at his use of the word homeĀ because it was beautiful but impersonal. When Kate moves in (and even before) bringing her collection of novelty mugs and throw cushions, and Violet sees how Anthony happily looks around at his living room with the curtains that donāt really match the sofa or the intricately patterned rug Kate liked so much Violet kisses her son on the cheek and whispersĀ āNow this is a home.āĀ
Daphne drops by the least. Not because she doesnāt care but because, Honestly she was the first to settle out of any of the siblings so she has her own home and husband to annoy. That being said, She has an uncanny knack for knowing when Anthony is ... in the middle of somethingĀ with Kate. At least she knocks.Ā

Gregory practically lives at Kate and Anthonyās. They jokingly call the spare room he sleeps in, Gregoryās room. When he first moves out of Violetās Kate worries about him, almost as much a Violet does. Anthony privately thinks she really neednāt, the amount of times heās invited to dinner and then stays the night because it gets too late, Anthony doubts Gregoryās kitchen has even been used, But he loves seeing Kate with his family so he never complains.
Hyacinth is still very young when Anthony and Kate get together, Anthony often finds Kate helping Hyacinth with her homework (both he and Kate are aware that Hyacinth needs no help but she asks so Kate does). Hyacinth is just as welcome at their house as any of the others, and Anthony finds himself unable to be angry when Hyacinth bursts into the Sheffield family brunch one day, running straight to Kate, crying quietly because she and Felicity have had a fight. Mary and Edwina both look startled but Mary catches Anthonyās eye with a knowing look and whispers quietly
āitās nice that your family feels so at home here.ā Anthony replies with a gruff grunt. Not trusting himself to keep the tears from falling were he to open his mouth

Fic writers, I have an important question for y'all:
Seeing as how I literally live in the Anthony Bridgerton/ Kate Sheffield tag in Ao3, what's your general consensus on tagging with Kate's name change? Thinking I might miss a fic is giving me anxiety.
Now that we have Kate. I think itās time to ask the real important questions, who is going to play Newton? As the unsung hero of the books, his casting could make or break this season.
You know that was my first thought after I finished fangirling over Simone Ashley's fabulous casting.
I was like ' wait have they casted Newton yet?'
I hope the casting of The Honorable Sir Newton Sharma, is as awesome as his mum's. the cast bts pictures with our new shinning star will be spectacular, you just wait.
