I don’t like Emerie, Gwyn, and Nesta’s “sisterhood” because it feels fake. You’re telling me that Emerie, who is a victim of family abuse, told Nesta she had nothing to apologize for? Even tho Feyre canonically hears Nesta’s voice every time she has a self deprecating thought and Nesta maliciously blamed elain for their fathers death knowing that elain was the closest to their father and was still grieving? And you’re telling me that Nesta was super nice to them and called them her sisters while being actively abusive to her bio sisters?
I just don’t buy it. They served as Nesta’s yes men. They didn’t even have a real convo that talked about the actual damage Nesta caused to her family. They just served to strip her of all accountability really.
I can tell you right now that if Nesta treated them like she does her actual sisters, they wouldn’t have told her that she has nothing to apologize for. If Nesta threatened to slit emeries throat and told Emerie that no one would care or remember if she dies, Emerie would’ve justifiably left. If Nesta blamed gwyn for her sisters death and then compared her to a dog, gwyn wouldn’t be friends. But since Nesta acts like that to her bio sisters, it’s alright because she was “provoked.”
It really does . The "sisterhood" is based of them knowing little to nothing about each other . No one can tell me otherwise . I know Emerie is not aware of what Nesta did but those words were still said to her and it's clear Nesta takes it to heart when she once again disrespescts Feyre without remorse in HOFAS. The Nesta fans will tell you that no , Nesta isn't ab*sive when she was . The only way Nesta took on her mother's role after her d*ath was showing her sisters the same toxicity that their mother did .
The anger I have for Nesta for treating absolute strangers with kindness . Her calling them sisters was so forced and fake . Nesta did not grow much if at all in her book and that especially shows in how she treats her bio-sisters . I genuinely couldn't care less that she was nice to strangers , it does not make her a good person .
The "Valkyries" should be renamed "Nesta and her yes men" . Or as someone else on here called them "merry band of ribbon cutters" . Her yes men just assume she was good because she was good to them , exactly I personally don't like that Nesta waited until Feyre d*ed to feel wholly guilty . Where is the growth people speak of ? .
I agree about the points you made at the end . SJM had to make two new characters because no one would actually be friends with Nesta if they actually knew her
