new star wars headcanon me and @nerdydisasterbi314 developed together today: Palpatine had shatterpoint
So here's a more elaborate argument.
How could Palpatine do all that? How could he manipulate everyone around him, including the Jedi Order, his own fellow Sith, galactic political leaders, Anakin, Jango, Dooku, etc without anyone finding him out or mucking with his plans? How could he roll with the punches so easily, correcting for every possible mistake?
Simple. Through the Force, he could sense everyone's weaknesses: not just physical weak spots to attack infights, but mental and political weak spots like motivations and secrets. The moment he met Anakin, he could sense the precise buttons he needed to push to ensure his fall, and the exact ways to keep the Jedi from stopping him. When he was orchestrating the clone wars, he knew the exact pieces to move to put himself in an optimal position to take over.
When he was confronted in his chambers by the Jedi, he was able to one-shot three of them because he knew exactly where to stab. But Mace also had shatterpoint, so he could better counter Palpatine.
(I like the above gif really well because we know that one of the shatterpoint powers is being able to break glass easily, but also it's hard to tell whether Mace or Palps is the one who causes the glass to break. The sparks indicate Windu but the blocking makes it look like both)
