“So, I was thinking..” Your voice trailed off as you took a step back from the kitchen counter, hands resting on your hips. “We could go for blue tile and add a splash of color or.. be practical and go with white.”
Turning to your boyfriend, who was leaning against the fridge with his arms crossed, you scowl at him. “Input would be nice?”
“Baby,” he sighs, his lips cracking into a smile, “it’s just our kitchen, does it really require this much thought? Just.. Inky-binky-bonky it until you land on one.”
Your face was, well, incredulous. You two had been remodeling your apartment during the off season, and your kitchen was a pretty big part of your apartment! Was it not?
You couldn’t help but be baffled by the play-ground style of making decisions. Inky-binky-bonky? Seriously?
Lando’s face contorts oddly, the one he makes when stifling a laugh. Huffing, your hands tighten their grip on your waist. “What is so funny?”
“Nothing! Nothing.” Lando shakes his head, his expression shifting into full on amusement. Although you tried to look annoyed, you loved his stupid little smile.
“You’re annoying.” You point at him with a short laugh. “Okay! Tiles can wait..” You walk to the island counter, where you had a few printed pieces of paper out, all showcasing different styles for cupboards. “What about—“
Glancing up to make sure the boy was listening, you catch his eyes already on yours, adorning a toothy smile. Your eyes dart from the papers to him, “what?” You breathe, though a smile matching his makes it’s own way onto your face.
Lando shrugs, pushing off the fridge and making his way to you. “Have I ever told you I love you?” He asks through a low murmur, his hands gripping your wrists and pulling them off your hips, leading them to wrap around his waist.
Lando lets go of his hold so you could wrap them full around him and his own could come up to frame your face.
You were definitely smiling now. Cocking your head to the side, your eyes flicker up to his, “hmmm, you may have to say it one more time, I must’ve missed it the first time.” A lie—of course, you could never forget the first time he’d told you he loved you.
Dipping down far enough that his lips hovered above yours, Lando whispers, “I love you.” Then, his lips were on yours, molding perfectly against them.
Humming contently, your words come out mumbled against his intoxicating kiss, “I love you.”

Facts don't care about you Lando haters' feelings. And the facts are that Stella admitted from the SECOND RACE WEEKEND this year that this car had been tailored to Oscar's driving style to try to bring him up to speed for the first time in his F1 career and is consequently the exact opposite of everything Lando has asked the team for since 2019.
McLaren caused this, and there's a chance their strongest driver is injured right now because instead of fixing their car, they told him he needed to stop being overdramatic and adapt to it.
