Taking the opportunity for a Jendo prompt ofc: Jenson reacting to Lando’s summer break shenanigans? 👀 (the DJ sets, the cowboy getup, showing the boys his bare ass, any/all of the above) 

"Howdy, cowboy," Jenson drawls, and Lando tries to muffle the sound of his laughter.

"You saw that," he says, flipping the lock on his cabin door.

"I did," Jenson says. Lando can hear his smile, and it makes him smile in return. "Are they open in the back?"

Lando catches his bottom lip between his teeth. The chaps are in a heap on the bed, discarded when he'd switched into joggers.

"Yeah," Lando says. Then, feeling bold. "Wanna see?"

"Oh, fuck yes."

Lando grins. "Give me three minutes and then call on facetime. I can't send a picture, but-"

"Three minutes," Jenson says, cutting him off. He understands, even if Lando knows he thinks the lack of nudes is a real shame. "I'll be ready."

Lando shimmies out of his joggers and pulls the chaps on. The fabric sticks to his skin, damp from sweat and the humid night air. He tightens the belt across his lower belly and looks at himself in the mirror. The socks stay on, he decides. The shirt comes off. He likes the way he looks, even though the chaps aren't leather and the fabric pools at his feet.

His phone buzzes, and he answers the facetime call, holding the phone up so Jenson can't see him yet.

"Got something good for me?" Jenson asks. It's morning where he is, and he's near a window, smiling at the screen with as much affection as desire.

Lando's always been useless in the face of the way Jenson feels about him.

"Yeah," Lando says. He holds the camera further from his face, so Jenson gets a glimpse of torso. Lando knows his angles, knows Jenson probably saw at least a bit of the stream from the other day. This is all for him. He watches Jenson's eyes rove over his body, the way his breath seems caught, anticipating. Lando walks over so the camera picks up the mirror, and his ass, framed by the chaps.

"Fantastic," Jenson purrs. "Let me see the front." Lando turns, putting on a little show, and Jenson makes another noise of appreciation. "The things I'd do to you if I were there," he says.

"Would you come?" Lando asks. "Next year?"

Jenson's chuckle is fond. "I'd raise the median age on that boat by about a decade," he says. "I saw you in the club, you and Keegan," he laughs, and Lando laughs along with him.

"Keegs is next-level," Lando protests. He pulls the phone back so they're making eye contact. "Comporta?" he asks.

Jenson hesitates, his face doing something Lando can't quite pin down. "I'll go anywhere you want me," he says at last. "Especially if you wear those."

Lando laughts. "Maybe I'll get a pair in Austin. Real leather, you know?"

Jenson bites his lip, and Lando grins at the obvious reaction.

The doorknob rattles, and someone bangs on the door. "Oy, you alive in there?"

"Be right up!" Lando calls. He gives Jenson a sheepish grin. "They're expecting me for poker," he says. "I should go."

"Go," Jenson says. "I'll follow along on Keegan's instagram."

Lando rolls his eyes. "Here," he says. "One more look for the road."

He holds up the phone to the mirror, and drags the back of his briefs so one of his ass cheeks is fully exposed.

"When I get my hands on you next," Jenson says, a delicious promise.

"Soon," Lando says.

"Soon," Jenson agrees, and ends the call.

Or, Lando keeps following Carlos around because he smells really really good, and he can’t figure out how to tell him that in a normal human way. Considering he isn’t very human, it’s a bit tricky. (he also has a mega massive crush on him, but who wouldn’t, right?)

Carlos feels like he's getting stalked by some guy. Lando is stalking Carlos. Not for a bad reason, he just - he just doesn't know how to tell him he smells amazing in a normal way. Is there even a normal way to tell someone you are a vampire?

unfortunately i dont think its queerbaiting if the creator is just so terminally heterosexual that they never remotely considered the same gender relationship their show is centered around could be read as romantic. it is deeply painful however.

Maybe accidental queer baiting? The way someone may not mean to say something rude, but it may come off rude, so it's rude. Frustrating either way.

Not being a dick, just a friendly clarification.

By definition you can't accidentally queerbait. Queerbaiting is specifically using a same sex pair from the show to market the show to queer audiences with no intention of ever following through on a romantic relationship.

There is officially licensed Destiel merch signed off on by Kripke. Teen Wolf had a commercial with the actors for Derek and Stiles draped over each other talking about being "on a ship." Both shows actively used scenes between them as marketing while actively mocking fans for wanting them together. Sherlock has multiple characters refer to Johnlock as a couple, including characters we're supposed to believe are never wrong about human behavior and pushed those scenes in marketing. Then they acted insulted when fans saw them as a couple.

That's queerbaiting.

Done on accident it would just be queer subtext. Done because they had no other choice due to censorship is queer coding.

The specific meaning of the word is really starting to get lost and it's a pretty important one to keep accurate. It describes a very specific phenomenon that was done repeatedly and maliciously for decades and is meant to examine that specifically.

Doing it on accident sucks, but it isn't a tactic of capitalism intentionally intended to suppress queer representation while making money from queer fans.
