blue & grey: raindrops hit your windowpane, creating shapes in your mind’s eye to pass the time. your phone makes a sound, filling the room with light. “it’s a friend from long ago,” it says. a warmth fills you that not even the rain can wash away: quietly alone, but never lonely.
telepathy: your hair is a mess and clothes are a disaster, but you’re dancing alone in your living room. there’s work to do, responsibilities to finish—but you let them slip away just this once. your socked feet burn rug away, but you’ve never felt more free.
dis-ease: tonight is a night for mischief, you decide. paths remain untraversed, but not for long. grab a friend, young one; it’s time to make your marks.
stay: “is this the end?” you grip the edges of reality, desperate to remain tethered. the night dwindles and the crowd vanishes, and yet you remain. a gentle hand reaches for you and holds. “yes,” they reply, “but that doesn’t mean that it’s over.”
dynamite: …and after every rainstorm comes a rainbow. the dove returns to its roost, satisfied—and it was good.
