This whole “Is Taylor Hall smart?” slash “media access” debate got me thinking about player reputations. Allow me to tell a story.
For years, especially while he was in Philly, I heard from a lot of people that Jeff Carter was either dumb, a dick, or both. He came to MSG 3 or 4 or 5 times a year and I never talked to him. He was never around postgame. I’d always go to both locker rooms, never saw him there.
When he was left off Team Canada in 2010, we wanted to talk to him at MSG pregame. Refused to talk. To many, it wasn’t a big deal because he was allegedly a dick, an idiot or both, so no loss. Again, not my opinion, just what people who talked to him had said.
So he gets dealt to LA, goes to the Cup Final. He’s in NJ. I’m on the series. I say I’ll talk to him. “Good luck,” was the sentiment because of the whole idiot/dick thing. Asked him a couple questions. He was good. Not a dick, not dumb. Good. I wondered why people thought this about him. But, one interaction, two questions. Maybe I’m wrong. Others telling me this stuff seem to know him better.

obligatory statement on bodily fluids: come/comeplay - sure! blood/bloodplay - a little is fine. watersports and scat - very no. vomit - if it’s not a part of sex it’s fine to mention if necessary.
other notes: i love a well-researched piece and often get thrown out of fics by factual details being very wrong. similarly, a well-beta’d fic is my favorite kind. real-life non-famous people (WAGs and family) are fine to include as long as they’re respected and not demonized or bashed in any way. if you want to include background pairings, that’s great and i’m not picky. also, i like both D/s AUs and mpreg but with A/B/O i often feel like i’m reading the same fic over and over with different names plugged in, so if you want to go that route, some kind of new take would be much appreciated. also also, don't feel obligated to do something smutty! fluffy/angsty fic is just as welcome if not moreso.

i’m carts/richie garbage, for real. seriously, anything with these guys will fuck me up, so have at it. whatever you write, i will cry and i will like it, from full canon angst to a happy AU. i have 2 requests for them, though. re: richie’s drug use, if you’re going to include it please do it well. research and all that jazz. and i’d really like an unambiguous happy ending for this pairing in particular. beyond that, go wild!

these guys just scream domesticity to me. i mean, megan taught aaron to bake! willie bought aaron boat shoes so he could skipper willie’s boat! i just want to read anything there is about 19-year-old aaron ekblad who looks 35 and the married couple he’s dating.

i really just want more gabe the babe in fic. also i have all these feelings about matt duchene and his strange and wonderful life. i would be happy reading them in any scenario.
