The Vaselines' first gig, 1986 in Bristol supporting The Pastels, before even releasing Son Of A Gun. The recordings from this show were included on Enter The Vaselines.

The Vaselines' Son of a Gun solo

Okay, so I know at least one other person on here will find this interesting. I haven't ever been able to find the Son of a Gun solo tabs online (I think it's cause Nirvana didn't play it in their cover, but I might be wrong). I wanted to play this song with my band, so I decided to try my luck messaging the Vaselines' Instagram account, and I ACTUALLY GOT A REPLY, and I tell you I was fan girling so hard when I saw that notification, and I currently have a screenshot printed out and in the sleeve of my Way of the Vaselines record sleeve.

watching them play it on KEXP and reading what I presume was Eugine wrote, I was able to get it sounding similar enough to play live. just wanted to share this cause it was a highlight of my year.

If anyone has any other renditions of the solo, I'd like to see them. i also had them all over my spotift wrapped this year, which i will post if anyone care haha.

i love his photo of Juno that is briefly shown in her room and i love the guitar she's playing.

for anyone who cares the guitar is a Harmony Bobkat H15V from the 60s I believe. they are like kind of hard to find and expensive T-T other wise i would probably try to get one cause its a pretty unique guitar (and from one of my favorite movies

also fun fact later in the film when Juno is talking to Mark he asks her what guitar she plays she says she plays a Harmony which is accurate to the photo! just a cool detail
