❝ You know what I used to do for the thrill? Play hookie back in high school. I don’t know why I found it so exciting, there wasn’t anything badass about it at all. There’s only so much you can do in the span of an hour-long class. ❞ The thought was completely vague & unrelated, but since they were already on the topic, she found the need to bring it up. She purses her lips together into a thin line, narrowing her eyes slightly while her mind begins to wander. Cora always liked to spend her time wisely, and sitting through ridiculously boring lectures and pointless chemistry classes didn’t seem wise at all. Half-assing her education proved to be less detrimental than she thought, her grades were fine, so why not? Even now, her laziness didn’t make it onto her long list of regrets – despite how wrong it obviously was, of course. She was just glad it lost its appeal by now. ❝ Now that I think about it, napping would have been a better way to kill time. But maybe it’s a good thing that the things that thrilled us once don’t interest us anymore. I don’t necessarily regret them … Even though I probably should, but some habits only come in phases – we get tired of them like we get tired of people, I guess they are just meant to be left behind. ❞
“Wow! I should call the cops right now. You really went way overboard as a teen. Unbelievable. I don’t think I can even look at you the same anymore, Cora.” Neu responded blatantly sarcastic, a wide grin plastered upon plump lips and a subtle roll of his eyes following shortly after. It wasn’t like he was exactly surprised by a girl like her skipping classes. She seemed like the type, and he liked that. He liked anyone who went against the rules, who stepped out of the imaginary box that confines. He, himself, liked to believe that even he was spontaneous--the type of guy to step across the borderline and always try to do the unexpected, try to be different, try to have a life that strayed from the norm. Whatever the norm was supposed to be, anyway. “I think you’re implying something. You gonna get tired of me soon? That hurts.”
