— y’all heard the song star gazin by lil nas??? yeah i listened to that and made this boy. (also i dont have an outfit for him yet so he’s nakey. but i drew him in his akademiya uniform just for funsies.)
— scholar for the akademiya <3 on paper he is in the haravatat. was offered a place in rtawahist, but declined because he didn’t want to deal with all of those people. (only entered haravatat because it has the least members. he doesn’t care for one darshan over the other— he just wants to use the akademiya’s resources and not be bothered. plus he gets to be out and about in ruins by himself so its a win-win SKSKS)
— speaking of: his way of thinking and fixations are actually more aligned with rtawahist. he adores the stars, and is constantly studying teyvat’s constellations and star alignments. but given his current field of study, most of his time is spent studying ruins and ancient languages & such. (not that he doesn’t like it, though.)
— breaks 2(?) of the six sins!!!! (delving beyond the universe & ‘attempting the forbidden and fearing none’. but ig he breaks both at the same time idk.) he’s obsessed with the worlds beyond teyvat, & ‘the history not even irminsul records’. in his early years, the higher ups & sages dismissed his papers, and scolded him for teetering too close to committing these sins. however as he got older, he just started conducting his research in private, and not disclosing his findings.
— “if it doesn’t harm others, then it’s not wrong” mentality.
— he’s a recluse & his selectively mute. (ironic given that his field of study is linguistics.) conversations and speaking overwhelm him, especially in crowds or with people he doesn’t know. this does make it a bit lonely though, since khalid longs for conversations and at least one friend. preferred methods of communication include writing on paper, or he uses his vision to project words & symbols in the air. (he’s still slightly expressive, and uses hums/other simple noises to get his points across).
— aside from his main fields of study (linguistics and ancient languages officially, and all subcategories of astronomy in his spare time) he’s read in to alchemy. not to preform, but mostly to understand; it was in relation to his study of historical nations though, so its not as if he strayed too far. he can’t actually preform anything of the sort, though.
