As someone who grew up poor, let me tell you: snobby kids are insufferable but poor kids ARE DEMONS. They will give you prison-level PTSD from their constant sexual harassment, casual animal cruelty, bullying and misogyny/racism. The 'scrappy', workaholic, rude but brave archetype refers mostly to lower end of middle class people, who are indeed often solid. You DON'T want to be a student at a school for the poor. We didn't have toilet seats, just holes in the floor without any separations at all (!!!) So everyone could see you poop and pee, completely, in all detail, at all times. Many girls held it in all day long because of it (including me). Didn't save me from bullying and harassment though. Poor people's world is a bad, Bad, BAD place to be.

Fellas, if something is truly inspiring, it is:

Hayao Miyazaki made an uncompromisingly personal, artsy movie that no one was supposed to get because it's too personal, too dark, too 'exotic' or whatever. And it actually became immensely successful and popular despite it (because of it???) And Disney made the safest, most backbone-less, most non-combative and soy and politically correct and soft and crowd-pleasing 'Wish' and it failed!!! It fucking failed, my friends! A historical moment! Should we finally throw away all those Hollywood seminars and workshops that try to sell us 'how to make the universally loved stories Disney style'???

There is nothing universal about any movie.

And the world is finally hungry for something different.

Modern people are so hilariously - and pointlessly - obsessed with finding their 'true' self. True 'masculinity', true 'femininity', something most bare and primordial, which is always somehow better, for some reason. Their inner, most virginal, most untouched by civilization (always a bad thing in their opinion) kind of personality that, they believe, existed before the language and society and religion and law (all shackles, all prisons!!1!). But a human being is a strange kind of animal. Not only nature engineered it, it engineered itself even to a bigger extent. The more you go into your wilderness, the more you find things that don't make you unique but rather those that connect you with your animal ancestors. Things that are, indeed, completely natural. But those which hardly make you free. Pedophilia is completely natural (it exists in animals). Sadism, rape, torture are completely natural because animals do kill for fun, do rape, do pursue partners against their will, do play with their victims and enjoy their pain. Incest is completely natural because animals do it. Bigotry and xenophobia are natural because it is natural and convenient for animals to kill those dissimilar to them. You may find that the more 'true' and 'pure' your self is, ironically, the less it looks like you - like a human, even. Turns out, your real, unfiltered, natural self isn't actually you. What great irony. You didn't understand what kind of animal you are. The only creature who wears its soul outside, the only animal who wears a mask it created for oneself - it's you, a human being, and you create yourself, every day, in your own image, like a God. This creation is your freedom, not your prison. Self control created a man. As sad as it sounds.

Yes. Also 'all lives are equal!!!11!!' What you're trying to say is: all people are equal worth at birth, men and women, people of different races, etc. But there are ways to actively take away from your worth by committing atrocities. By raping, by torturing people and animals, by consciously spreading diseases, by committing acts of terrorism. I will never, not once believe that some war criminal or pedophile murderer are of equal worth with their victims or those who help their victims. Of course, criminals, even horrendous ones, should be prosecuted according to law, not emotion. But thinking that they are of 'equal worth' even though their existence is actively harmful to others... It's just silly. Ukrainian people who protect themselves, their land, will always be of bigger worth as humans than genocidal invaders driven by revanchism, imperial ambitions, greed and sadism.
