It has been a fun year. I do wish I had gotten more done, but unfortunately life and procrastination had gotten in the way. Nontheless, my project-partner, @purrassicjet , has been very kind and it was a pleasure working with them. I will link the fanfic to this post later! @nevermoor-big-bang

These lines are always particularly fascinating to me when reading this chapter because there's so many ways you can interpret them. We know that Lowry throughout this interaction is lying to Morrigan so much so that obviously raises the question of: does Lowry genuinely mean what she's saying here or is this just another attempt to try and get Morrigan on her side and using a shared commonality?

The way I view it (and by extension Lowry as a character) is that she does genuinely believe the things she's saying about women and girls but her beliefs don't matter because she doesn't make any effort to meaningfully change the lives of girls who weren't born lucky. Yes, she's a woman and the most powerful person in the Republic but that doesn't change the fact there are girls who are going to be spending their lives being overly apologetic whether they want to be or not because they were forced into being a servant for a rich person because they were denied a secondary education. Statistically there's probably at least one girl every Age who has to take the blame for everything because of a lie Lowry's party actively works to maintain. I do believe Lowry has probably experienced some hardship because she is a woman but what she does with that is systemically oppress other groups, which to me intersects really well with the series' themes of queerness, disability & prejudice

More hockey au stuff sorry it's the playoffs what can i say i have hockey on the mind. Jupiter is drafted first overall to the Nevermoor Nighthawks, and Rosie (Vespera is my headcanon for her maiden name) is second overall to the Fourth Pocket Fountains. They've played together for years so Rosie is mostly kidding when she glares at him. Rosie is traded to the Nighthawks after a couple seasons. They have to pay handsomely for her but it led them to dynasty-level success, with the Jupiter and Rosie duo.

Yes this is inspired by the Heated Rivalry draft picture. Yes I referenced the picture directly for poses and stuff. I couldn't transfer shane's specific two fingers so I just went the easy route.

More specifically about them in the hocky au under the cut

I'm imagining Rosie is a lot like Cale Makar (my favourite player). Talented defencewoman and high level point scorer. She and Jupiter have always worked extremely well together, but she's an incredible player in her own right.

To continue the Avs trend because they're my most promising team in the playoffs, Jupiter is mostly Nathan MacKinnon (fast, sharp shooter, good leader), but he has a Gabriel Landeskog-like return.

Rosie dies in a car accident during the Nighthawks' dynasty. Jupiter is distraught, Rosie is his foil, his everything. He plays a few games, but isn't up to his old performace anymore. There's a glaring hole in his defensive line, his passes don't connect the same, the person waiting behind him can't read his mind in the same way Rosie could. He wants to retire, despite being still young enough to play for a while yet, but the Nighthawks' coach, Gregoria Quinn, manages to convince him just to go on injured reserve to get his head on straight. (gabe was off the avs for nearly three seasons due to his injury this is realistic i swear).

He has a hard time with it, until he helps out with the Old Town Dragons, the team that Morrigan (and other members of Unit 919) play on, and it reignites his passion for the game and he makes a triumphant return to break the records he was always supposed to. Probably after a year or two.

Hi, everyone! My friend @orange-airplanes​ and I have both been working to make our blogs more accessible spaces for everyone, and together we have created a doc for meme image IDs! Image IDs are used to make posts accessible to a wide range of people, and we know how hard it can be to start writing your own. This doc is meant to let people copy and edit image IDs of generic memes to take out some of the stress and effort of transcribing images by hand. It is open to edit so people can add their own templates with IDs, and we’re happy to hear suggestions about possible improvements! The doc will also contain a list of additional resources on image IDs for further research.

Morrigan sprinted along the path through the Whinging Woods to catch up with Hawthorne and Arch, who appeared to be in a heated argument with some trees.

"Oh yes, how hilarious," a particularly knotty, ancient- looking oak grumbled at the boys. "Because tinsel doesn't attract a million tiny birds that want to nest in my glittery nether regions, does it? The disrespect..."

Morrigan laughed, then tried to cover it up with a cough as the tree turned its gnarly face towards her. A single shiny ornament swung comically from its left ear.

In the lead-up to Christmas, someone among the junior scholars (and Morrigan had a shrewd idea who that someone might be) had invented a game called 'Stealth Baubling'. The rules were simple: sneak into the Whinging Woods, hook a bauble on a branch, and run away before the tree noticed and gave you a wallop. (Harder than it sounded; there'd been a lot of injuries.)

Ms Dearborn had, of course, banned Stealth Baubling the moment she discovered it... thereby ensuring it spread among the junior and senior scholars like a winter cold. An official underground leaderboard quickly emerged (Hawthorne and Arch were currently battling for the top spot), and by the last week of term, half the trees were drooping beneath the weight of silver bells and velvet bows and colourful wooden nutcrackers. The Whinging Woods had never looked prettier, nor been crankier.

"Wasn't us!" Hawthorne protested unconvincingly, holding out his empty hands. "We haven't got any tinsel."

"NO, NOT ANYMORE YOU DON'T," bellowed a second tree, wrapped in so much of the stuff there was hardly an inch of bare trunk left.

"We can help you remove it, if you like?" Arch offered with a small, guilty smile. "Here, allow me"

THWACK!

"Get orf!" The old tree smacked Arch's outstretched hand, jingling loudly. "Didn't ask you to do nothing. Go on, away with you. And stop staring at my baubles!"
