The last few years have been a real challenge - my husband Val is dying of Huntington's Disease (think Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Lou Gehrig's Disease, or ALS, in one package), and I took care of my Mom until she passed a few months ago. Val, myself, and my mother in healthier times. I've b...
Hey there, folks.
I would like to express my gratitude again to those who were able to help last month. The job search is ongoing - I have my name in with a number of IT contract agencies, and and I'm checking into some free training to make myself more marketable.
Val's condition continues to deteriorate slowly - he can no longer speak or walk and is unable to feed himself. His neurologist tells me he likely has less than a year left.
I have been doing everything I can think of to find work, yet here I am. I hate having to ask again, but I don't know what else TO do.
I have raised the campaign goal to reflect needed expenses for this month as well. Any help is appreciated, and if you can't I certainly understand. Please share this if at all possible.
I love you guys. Thanks in advance for whatever you can do.

Good morning, Starbase 1!
DIASPORA PROJECT UPDATE:
As the Apollo program drew to a close in the late 1980s, plans were being laid for a permanent presence off-world. Both an orbital space station and an operational lunar base were in the works, as well as the first manned mission to Mars. A requirement for any of these projects was a heavy-lift capability that didn't exist at the time.
In 1986, NASA issued a request for proposals for a heavy-lift launch vehicle, using off-the-shelf technology where possible, and developing re-usable systems where possible. Thiokol and Martin Marietta updated components that they had developed for the aborted space shuttle program, and Rockwell International weighed in with an uprated Saturn S-II second stage. The first all-up test launch was on April 11, 1988, and the Ares-1B was declared operational on September 4, 1990.
Both Space Station I and Clavius Base largely owe their existence to the Ares-1B's lift capabilities. The Ares HLLV was also instrumental in delivering habitation modules and MAVs (Mars Ascent Vehicles) for the early manned Mars missions.
Presented in the first picture is an exploded view of the Ares-1B launch system. In the second picture is a depiction of the fully assembled stack, with a Saturn V shown for scale.
Both illustrations are high-resolution, suitable for wallpaper.

When it comes to Star Trek, a dynamic main title theme is key. In this behind-the-scenes video for Star Trek: Discovery, composer Jeff Russo leads a 60-piece...
I daresay this is the most beautiful of all Trek themes to this point.

U.S.S. Hood was originally commissioned in 2246, and served honorably for two decades before sustaining serious damage during the M-5 Incident. As she was already scheduled for refit in 2270, the decision was made to accelerate her maintenance schedule and combine battle repairs with the refit. Re-launched in May 2269 following two years of development and refit at Tycho Yards, the Hood class entered the fleet as the first battlecruiser design in the history of Starfleet. Measuring 974 feet in length, the Hood class is powered by twin PB-62 Mod 2 drives capable of propelling the 179,000 metric ton starship at a top cruising speed of Warp 6.5, and can maintain warp speeds as high as 9.2 for limited durations. The ship is armed with nine banks of twin MK VII-B phaser emitters, four photon torpedo launchers (2 forward, 2 aft), and equipped with CRM-114-C discriminators and the Aries X-1BC navigational deflector system. An LAU-262 rotary launcher bearing 36 multi-mission drones provides flexibility in intel-gathering and other purposes. For small craft operations, Hood is equipped with an expansive hangar deck and extensive service craft maintenance facilities, as well as external airlocks for universal docking. ABOUT THESE SCHEMATICS: This high-quality packet consists of five external views plus internal cross-sections and details on eleven 11"x17" sheets and are available NOW on Amazon.com at https://goo.gl/1E0luy
