Am I the only one who thinks the 2DS is completely pointless? If you don’t like the 3D then just turn down the slider >.> THAT’S WHAT IT’S THERE FOR! Second: I don’t even see HOW the 2DS can be considered portable! The clam shell makes it more compact and PROTECTS THE SCREENS! Also personal side rant: What is SO bad about the 3D effect anyway? I almost never turn it off unless I’m going to be away from my charger for a long period of time, in which case I’m only turning it off to save on battery power! I mean sure the 3D effect isn’t PERFECT! But it’s not horrible either! Like sure some games like Rayman 3D have horrible ghosting effects and then you have like LoZ OOT 3D which only has the ghosting effect in certain areas. But apart from that I have had no other complaints about! It has never once given me a headache! My eyesight has not suffered from it! And quite honestly I think the graphics in most games tend to look MORE CLEAR AND CRISP in 3D mode rather than 2D! Again, that’s been my personal experience with it and I can’t speak for everyone. I’ve heard other’s say it gives them headaches and such which I’m sure it might have, I’ve just never found it to be an issue with me and I also don’t ever really have a hard time finding the 3D sweet spot either (especially now that I got the XL). Anyhow, that was just a personal rant :P Carry on with the crossing :3

it's similar to the gameboy/advance??? most people still have theirs so i mean yknow. nintendo has been making portable game devices for decades i think they know how to make one that won't break in 5 seconds. dses are actually pretty easy to snap, and i've known a lot of children that have accidentally snapped it out of frustration.

also, maybe some people can't afford a 3ds. they're about 50 bucks more expensive, and even moreso for the XL.

if you aren't going to use the 3d, it's silly to put out the extra money for that feature. also, if somebody is prone to seizures or their child is, there is no way anything could go wrong (i.e. the 3d slider moving accidentally, which happens to me often)

idk. if it's not for you, that's fine. but a lot of people are going to appreciate it, and i think it's great that nintendo is giving people who don't want the 3ds but still want to play the games a chance to do that.
