J.K. Rowling shares rejection letters to inspire authors to never give up

J.K. Rowling tweeted an image Friday of two past rejection letters. The letters were sent to her pen name “Robert Galbraith” for The Cuckoo’s Calling. These publishers are certainly kicking themselves now. The first rejection letter from Constable & Robinson told Rowling it “could not publish it [your book]” for the most ironic of reasons.

Hilarious Comic of Abridged Classics In A Nutshell by John Atkinson

Cartoonist John Atkinson, (previously featured) creates a series of hilarious minimal cartoons of literary plotlines reduced to a punchline of some of the most noted works of literature, such as Moby Dick, Wuthering Heights, Beowulf, and War and Peace among others. Titled “Abridged Classics”, the illustrator of Wrong Hands keeps us entertained with his ridiculous spoilers. He’s also the same illustrator responsible for simplifying each art movement in a clever sketch!
