Water, right. He told me to stay hydrated.
I thought you'd left, Cameraman. It's been a minute.

S’alright, Newbie, the divine shepherd Noel, patron saint of drunk idiots is roamin’ tonight. Let’s get you sittin’ down, yeah?
Thank God, I haven't seen you since you painted my back!
Of course he did, it’s Fawley, he could start an argument with a paper bag. Drink your Black, you’re making me feel far too sober and I don’t like it.
Right.
After you, Fortescue.
He’s not my love. Why in the bloody hell would you duel Fawley? Mate, for fuck’s sake, you have the worst instincts. I thought they bred you lot to be survivor’s down there?
He started it.
This isn’t the cautionary part of the tale, mate. Drink up, it’s practically an initiation rite in the league.
My what, precisely?
Your love. Arcturus, the bloke who sent me to St. Mungo's. After tonight, you should know, my kindness has officially depleted. Since I obviously can't best you lot in a duel, nor socially, I figure I better warn you that the only venue of revenge I can take is on the Pitch. And I do intend on taking my revenge, Fortescue.
Quintin Black. Firewhiskey, mate. It’s .. got a special place in the Wasps hearts, if only because our Cor was weened on the stuff. Don’t look so worried.
Oh, right. Because anything to do with the Wasps shouldn't give me reason to worry...
To hell with that tonight, though, give me that bottle and I'll worry about throttling your Love later.
That’s more like it, Mancomb. Don’t let the hard questions get you down, it’s not a matter of can I make it to midnight but how trashed will I be when I get there. I always figure very is the best bet. Come on then, I don’t suppose you’ve been inducted in the Black yet.
The... the Black?
Quod Erat Demonstandum || Dixon and Oscar
For a few minutes there was silence between the two Quidditch players, the void between them being filled by the deafening thrum of the music. It was hard to tell in the darkness, with only body-paint as a means of light, but Bridget thought Oscar looked somewhat forlorn. Considering he was staring at his shoes rather than at her, she figured that something was upsetting him. She silently wondered to herself whether her comment about playing Quidditch had struck a chord. Bridget wouldn’t trade playing Quidditch for anything in the world, but sometimes it sucked. It seemed like every time she turned around there were rival brawls happening, nasty rumours being spread, or in her case an obnoxious brother cruising on her fame.
Bridget jumped at Oscar’s defiant answer to her question about whether his downtrodden attitude had anything to do with what the papers had written about him. It seemed as though everyone and their mother were in some sort of relationship with the sparky Wasp. She furrowed her brows at the mentioned of a duel between Oscar and Arcturus Fawley, “You two had a duel? When? What happened?” She asked, the questions coming out like bullets and then immediately regretted her interrogation when Oscar mentioned that he just needed to relax. Whatever had happened between the two of them had completely slipped her radar. “You know what, forget about it, I agree with you. Let’s go have some fun! This party would be a waste if the partygoers didn’t witness our winning dance moves,”
She followed Oscar into the mass of sweaty bodies and blurs of paint. Bridget had had numerous people paint on her today, but what was the harm of one more? As she blobbed paint onto Oscar’s face she grinned as to lighten the mood, "Up and close and personal I can see why Fortescue was so charmed by you,". As she continued to doodle on the Aussie’s friend she couldn’t help but ask, "So what’s your story then? How did Mr Broody and Moody get himself into so much shit with the Wasps?"
Oscar was relieved when Bridget followed him, weaving their way in tandem through the sweaty and intense crowd, and decided he'd ignore the comment about his dance moves. Though he was incredibly nimble in the air, Oscar had a hard time even managing a two-step. Turning to look back at her, smiling at this thought, Oscar found himself caught off guard as Bridget blotched his face with paint, no warning included. The drinking he had indulged in allowed this moment to happen, and Oscar felt his guard crumble with Bridget in this moment. Something about her, perhaps her age, had a way of putting Oscar at incredible ease.
At her comment about Felix, Oscar shook his head and opened his eyes in shock. "No, Bridge. Nothing happened, nor will it ever happen, between Fortescue and I. As for me charming him, absolutely not. That wanker is about as sociopathic as they come, and no amount of charm I possess could ever work on him." His eyes opened up wider, wanting to clarify, "Not that I want it too, either. As far as I'm concerned, if we never speak again I would die a happy person." Of course, in honesty, Oscar did not believe this himself. There was something entirely enamoring to Oscar about Felix. Perhaps not enamoring in a romantic way, but enamoring none-the-less.
"And, as for what I did...." Oscar paused a moment, looking around while Bridget continued doodling on him with paint, "I'm... I'm actually not sure. I suppose it all started with something, and quickly escalated to a few... physical altercations..." Oscar raised his drink to his mouth once again, wanting to wipe the memories of those incidents away, for now. "Why? Have they bothered you at all?" Oscar felt his brows furrow slightly, wanting to make sure the Wasps weren't taking out any of their weird pent up aggression on Bridget.
I hear that happens to a lot of blokes mate, no need to worry about it. Exactly how many snitches did you take?
No idea...
But I think we should take another. Or..... a drink! I owe you one from dinner, anyways.
Calm down, Mancomb, I just wanted to wish you a Happy New Year. I hear we’re deeply in love, I always knew us crazy kids would work out in the end.
You're right, cat's out of the bag and all.
But, really, Felix... I think I'm going crazy. One too many things have been placed under my tongue tonight. Things don't... things aren't working right.
Kangaroo Jack, I thought I’d never find you.
No, no, no. Not you, not now.
dunno' if I'm gonna make it until midnight....
You’ll be the best decorated guy here don’t you worry.
(x) British girls like a guy who is into flowers so you’ll get plenty of girls. I put Quidditch god in pretty letters on your back. Make sure to show it off, yeah?
Thanks mate, you're the best!
I write a fair bit, yes. I didn’t lie to you, if that’s what you’re implying.
Have another drink, then.
Another drink, right. Perfect plan.
Wonderful, let’s go!
Do your best, friend.
Making my last memories of the year 2014, ensuring that the open bar doesn’t go to waste.
Happy New Year.
You... said all you did was write a bit.
If I was in any way sober, I would think something fishy was going on, mate.
I’m saving most of the drinking for later tonight. But… I suppose I can make an exception for you, blondie.
Good, I'd expect nothing less.
And as much as I love this new nickname you've got for me, Cameraman, you can call me Oscar.
