The landmark Toms Diner in Roxbury, New Jersey. Long abandoned, there has been interest in getting the diner restored. Controversy reigns.
Tom's Diner was one of the locations for the filming of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" video.
I took these photos on September 18, 2014. Apparently there has been some work done on them since that time.
Articles on the diner:

Christmas Tree at Livingston Mall in New Jersey. This photo was taken with my iPhone, because I was not trying to be obvious (I think it is against the rules to take photos inside the mall). So I was nervous, and that can explain why the photo is blurry. Also I cannot seem to take good photos with my phone. I would fail at Instagram.
Back in June, I wrote about the closing of Pals Cabin in West Orange, New Jersey.

Babe Ruth ate there. Before he was famous, Liberace played piano there. Former governor of New Jersey Brendan Byrne was a loyal patron.
Recently, the old building was demolished. It will be replaced with a drugstore that I shall never visit.

Apparently about 100 years ago the towns of Metuchen, NJ and Glen Ridge, NJ argued about which town was "brainier." Both towns had many distinguished residents. Metuchen won the fight, and ever since have the town has been designated as "The Brainy Boro".
Even one of the post offices is dubbed "The Brainy Boro Station."

At Delicious Orchards in beautiful Colts Neck, New Jersey, they make their own honey.
They have their own beehives right in their store. You can see in the last photo the bees coming through the tube in the wall and make honey while you watch!
You can read about their bees here:

I took these photos today.
I took this photo in September 1997. I was on the ferry to visit Ellis Island.
I took the Twin Towers for granted, as did we all.
Little did we know what would happen 4 years later . . .
*sigh*
September 11th Memorial at the Eagle Rock Reservation in West Orange, New Jersey.
Because this park has splendid views of the New York City skyline, many residents rushed up here and viewed the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center falling on September 11, 2001.
Many New Jersey towns had residents who perished on that tragic day.

Notice the piece of metal that came from the World Trade Center site. It is between the two "twin towers".
Many towns in New Jersey had citizens who died that tragic day.

"Light from Shadows" …As we mark the anniversary of September 11th, we stop to remember the fallen and to honor them. We quietly face the memories of the day in our own ways. Our world changed that day and for those of us who were close to the tragedy, while counting our blessings, we are forever changed by those events. This photo was taken while the Freedom Tower was still under construction providing a symbol of our commitment, perseverance and renewed sense of hope.
Since this is a week to honor firefighters I am showing you the Lake Hiawatha firehouse. Lake Hiawatha is a section of Parsippany, New Jersey.
The area has many streets named after Native American words, including Navajo, Mohawk, and Sioux, and my favorite: Minnehaha Boulevard.
Marc and Michael say come to Newark!
