lessons urinetown taught me
nothing can kill a show like too much exposition
the cry of freedom sounds like rollicking country gospel
free people are free
large monopolizing corporations can be such a force for good in the world

no one’s sorry till they get to urinetown
laws can come from muscular, blood pumping organs
freedom is literally a cool blast of wind that burns your face to wake you up. literally.
This is LITERALLY Urinetown:

Jenna Hunterson from Waitress INFP by Rebecca requested by @natalieswoods
Introverted Feeling (Fi) “I’ll bake me a door to help me get through. I learned that from you. Mama, it’s amazing what baking can do.” Jenna focuses on her inner emotions throughout the show, doing her best to rely on herself to try to move through all of the problems that come her way. Instead of openly showing emotion to the world, she pushes her feelings into pies (“When it’s done/I can smile/It’s on someone else’s plate for a while”). In “She Used To Be Mine,” Jenna expresses how she feels she has betrayed and lost herself, becoming out of touch with her inner feelings. She is not easily influenced by the feelings of others, and instead tries to do whatever she deems is the right thing. For instance, she doesn’t bow in to people telling her she should look forward to having a baby, and later on she ends up breaking her affair because she knows it will cause pain for many people.
Extroverted Intuition (Ne) “A dream needs believing to taste like the real thing.” Jenna is creative and curious, always thinking about what pie she can make next or how she can move on to a better life away from Earl. When creating new pies, she shuffles between ideas and names with great speed, coming up with unique ideas every time. She demonstrates how capable she is at seizing opportunities when they appear, such as deciding to join the pie competition or starting an affair with Dr. Pomatter. Jenna can also find herself caught up within hypothetical dreams, shown in “A Soft Place To Land” where she looks forward to a better life that seems barely within reach along with Dawn and Becky.
Introverted Sensing (Si) “She is messy but she’s kind. She is lonely most of the time. She is all of this mixed up and baked in a beautiful pie. She is gone, but she used to be mine.” Although Jenna usually looks forward, there are quite a few moments where she finds she must rely on the past in order to keep moving. She often talks about her mother - how they baked together, every lesson she learned from all her advice. Her past experiences guide her in those ways along with routine - most days in Joe’s Pie Diner end up being “carbon copies of an old routine.” However, Jenna does show a desire to break free from the problems she continues to have again and again with Earl - she does not fondly remember how they first met, nor does she cherish their time together.
Extroverted Thinking (Te) “My whole life is in here, in this kitchen baking. What a mess I’m making!” Most of the time, Jenna shows that she feels powerless to take on anything outside of herself and her pies, preferring to stay with her own emotions. She struggles to find the control to leave Earl even though she wants to, and finds herself trying to rationalize her reasons. Many of her decisions are made with emotions first, such as how she has an affair with Dr. Pomatter because she “needs a bad idea,” knowing logically it could lead to problems. Jenna demonstrates that she is able to plan for the future in a logical manner, but this is typically guided with her goals and emotions through Fi.
