365 DAYS UNTIL OUR WEDDING
I have just watched the most wonderful film on Netflix, it was called Julie and Julia. Originally a book written about french cooking by a woman Julia and then how another woman, Julie, followed this book for a year and learned to cook. I am not a cook but I have been inspired to write. How amazing would it be if I took this year to concentrate my efforts on something? To strive for something and through that learn how I am supposed to do things in order to achieve my goals.
5 goals to achieve in a year.
By this time next year I will have completed my challenge and be writing to you the night before my wedding, ready to walk down the aisle as a Mrs!
So Starting with Number 1…
Yesterday I started a little fitness journey in my local gym. I have paid for 6 months which allows me to use the gym, the swimming pool and also any classes that I may want to try. In order to get started I am going to attempt to go at least 3 or so times a week. I have a trainer who is setting me a few workouts and is also going to weigh and measure me every couple of weeks. I am determined to lose this weight. However I have started off badly having eaten a Christmas amount of chocolate. Shit.
I weighed in at 15 stone 3 and I am hoping to get to 10 stone. Anything after that would be an absolute bonus. It works out at 7 pounds a month which is just under 1 pound a week so it is definitely do-able. I must remember to concentrate on 1 pound a week rather that freaking out about 5 stone to lose!
I realise that I am taking in issue 2 as well so I shall continue…
I am starting this Gym, walking and hopefully swimming. I went yesterday and worked out for an hour with this new trainer, who funnily enough turns out that she is my neighbour! The coincidences are high, but not when living in a small town. I have a dog which I got for my birthday in April. I absolutely love her, she is called Minnie Mouse. She is 10 months old and a staffy. She is white and dotty but she is completely deaf. Dear help her she is the best dog she just doesn’t hear. Anyway I tell you all this because I take her out for at least a half hour walk every day as I feel sorry for her cooped up in a caravan. She's a big girl in a small space a bit like my self!
So with all this working out hopefully I will slowly trudge towards my goal of a pull up. I like to get a head start on things so this is why I’m staring the week before Christmas instead of the 1st January lol.
(Can I use lol? Not sure but seen as this is my wee blog I will leave in it.)
Building a house. My current situation is, well unconventional to say the least. I live in a caravan beside half a house that a digger went through (long story more on that another time). We are applying for a replacement dwelling on the site and knocking the rest of that old one down. We have lived in the caravan since May and I did not think going into this that I would be spending a year in a caravan with my fiancé, 2 cats and a 3 stone deaf dog! It is absolute chaos!
Our Wedding. We booked the venue last week and it’s truly magical. Nothing else done so far but I have tried on at least 20 wedding dresses…. Still haven’t found the one! I think I need Randy FIenoli to pop out and ask me to say, ‘Yes to the dress!’ before I agree to anything! The Mr wants to wear a kilt, I’d prefer tweed. Who knows, still undecided on a lot. I want everything to be perfect so it's hard decisions with every small detail.
Hopefully you will be able to join me on this quest over the coming year as I document my journey into happily ever after.
