At The New Obsolete, we blog about progress--the kind of progress that moves humanity forward. We vie for economic and social liberty, and we profile the advancements in technology, revolutions in business, and movements toward a sustainable future that make them possible. We revel in the innovations that render archaic ideas and institutions obsolete--namely politicians who tell us how to live our lives, corporations that feed off government's fear of change, and talking heads who believe they have the right to transmit their ignorance because someone has pointed a news camera at their face. Some of our posts are more meta than you will find on a mainstream tech or culture blog; some of our views are more controversial than you may be used to. This is by design. We want to challenge you to do something that so few in our culture practice. We want you to think. We want you to think about the past so that you can apply its lessons to the present. More importantly however, we want you to think about the future that we can build together if we distance ourselves from what is considered "normal" and instead strive for what is right.
