A first edition from 1951. Great cover iillustration.
Michael Whelan | ILLUSTRATION | Robots and Empire (Isaac Asimov, 1986)
Concept art made to accompany Harlan Ellison’s unmade script for “I, Robot.” Susan Calvin as a child, young woman, and old woman.
I loved the script, but having read it over, like so many other far-out scifi concepts, it simply was too ambitious to make with the limitations of special effects in 1978. See also: Oliver Stone’s original script for Conan the Barbarian (I am not kidding).
The Last Thunder Horse West of the Mississippi.
Bob Walters cover art to Isaac Asimov’s Science Fiction magazine (1998).
