Team skull infiltrator anon. I think I'm a father? Damn these kids are so so neglected, they're basically fighting over parental affection from me. They're good kids, eager to please, and just need some guidance.

I'm teaching them to cook, how to use knives safely and keep their food from going bad or cross contaminated. I got iron supplements-- a lot of the girls and some of the boys are deficient and just feel like garbage all the time. My supervisor keeps asking for information on the terrorist activities but I keep blowing her off, saying I'm in deep cover. We're going to have a movie night and watch How To Train Your Dragonite and I cannot miss this.

Once Larimar called back into the hatch, it didn't take long for the "everyone" she had mentioned to appear. There were about 20 people here. Among them, two stood out- a tall woman with tanned skin and dark hair. She had visible eyebags, but despite her exhaustion still smiled and greeted the group warmly.

"Hola, I'm Nemona. You're all here to find Jayden too, then?"

The other woman was shorter, wearing a dark hoodie and an outrageously fluffy Eevee backpack. She hunched her shoulders, trying to get even smaller, and whipped out her Rotom Phone.

"I'm Penny." She mumbled, almost too quietly to hear. "As much as I'd love to do introductions, we should really get goin'."

"Agreed." Larimar's brows furrowed, turning to face Scoundrel when they asked their question. "He's definitely been here, but not anymore. Penny thinks we have to go even deeper before we find him."

Nobody looked happy at the prospect. The unnamed group members all seemed exhausted, milling around in bright green employee uniforms, some of which were burned or had pieces torn off. Morale didn't seem particularly high, that was for sure.

"We'd better hurry then... before that thing gets to him before us-" Juniper began before Willow spoke up.

"Roaring Moon, Ancient Paradox version of Salamence. An event like this has occurred elsewhere previously but not to this extent."

"...How in Distortion do you know what that thing is- WAIT WHAT DO YOU MEAN ITS HAPPENED BEFORE???"

"Well it's not like we'll find him going back up, so if he's not here anymore what else is there to do but go deeper?" Aria sighs, resting her hands on her hips. Sonata quietly and awkwardly goes to hide behind her meantime. "Getting going sounds like a good idea." Adagio just nods, "Time is of the essence, especially when we have... competition."

"Wait, what?" Nemona blinked. "It's... happened before?"

"Multiverse stuff, Mona." Larimar patted the other woman's arm. "We can process that later. You're right, Aria, we should get moving."

"I've been running scans all night." Penny tapped at her Rotom Phone. "And this morning, 4 am according to my phone, all the Paradox Pokemon nearby just... disappeared. There don't seem to be any vital signs around us anymore, apart from the Glimmora."

She gestured at the wall, where the flower mimicking creatures still clung. They were grouped in clusters, their "petals" just barely brushing up against each other.

"All the Paradox Pokemon in the crater are all converging on a single point. I'm willing to bet that's where we'll find Jayden. And hopefully Madison too."

"No sense wasting time, then." Larimar looked determined. "We're going to keep moving until we find our friends and whatever took them."

"Is everyone ready? All geared up and such?" Juniper asked, visibly getting worried as he twisted an icy rope he'd brought out of somewhere.

"If anyone would like to know of the other paradox pokémon, I'd be more than happy to inform you." Willow stated, oddly joyful for how grim the situation was. "My parents are ready to come help."

"Asp and Isa are not coming down here"

"...um-"

Okay way more people. Okay. Helpful, but sort of nervewracking to be in such a large group.

It awkwardly stood by listening to the others speak, taking in the information as it fidgeted in place.

Hearing the details about the paradox pokemon though....that scared them to pieces.

"Just- Disappeared? For fuck's sake are we gonna have ta fight every paradox mon in the whole crater???"

The group could handle themselves so far, but that amount of paradox pokemon would at least take a lot of effort to take down. One that she wasn't as sure they had, especially after the exhaustion of getting down here.

Looking towards Juniper, it took a deep breath and calmed itself, determined to be ready and at its best. They couldn't not be at their best when lives were at stake.

"I'm ready."

"As much as we'll ever be." Aria sighs, looking to her sisters. She almost wishes they hadn't come- they shouldn't have bothered themselves with her business. Sonata still seemed quite nervous and on edge, and she couldn't even begin to read Adagio's expression- she was always good at hiding her feelings in that way. Still, some part of her is glad they love her so much that they were willing to put themselves in this kind of situation for her. "Suppose so." Adagio murmurs in agreement, their littlest sister remaining quiet and merely nodding. None of them could say they were thrilled by the concept of a congregation of literally every dangerous pokemon in the area, but that's where their target probably was, so ready they had to be whether they want to be or not.

"And luckily, I've already found a path further down. I don't know what we're going to find down there... but we'll face it together, right gang?" Larimar said, looking to the other group members.

There were various mumbles and nods of affirmation from the group. Larimar shook her head.

"Okay, I get it, we all just want to be done with this already. I get it. Well then, enough standing around chatting. Follow me, everyone!"

With Larimar leading the charge, they went past the Zero Lab and through a sort of crystalline passageway. The terrain changed again. At first it was grass, then rock, and now solid gemstones. Every surface was reflective, dazzling crystal, reflecting their faces in their facets. Chunks of crystal sprouted from every wall and even dangled from the ceiling above, occasionally dispelling drops of cerulean spring water. In the distance, they could even see a tree made entirely of crystal, a pale blue fog obscuring it from view.

The air felt unnaturally still. There were no longer even any Glimmora- this was a barren, alien landscape, devoid of life except for the weary band of travelers.

Finally, they approached another tunnel, and on the other side... light. Something was alive in there.

"Is this the 'okay we're outta here' light or is that the 'we should run' kinda light-?"

Seeing a mysterious light in the depths of Area Zero's caves......definitely seemed liked an omen. One that Scoundrel wasn't going to take lightly.

They grabbed for a pokeball just to make sure she didn't have to rush to get one.

Her voice going down to a whisper as it warned the group, "I think we should be really careful around this part. Don'tcha think?"

If they were lucky there wouldn't be something that was trying to kill them.

It didn't think they were that lucky.

All three girls carried on the path guided, each on edge and wary of everything around them, understandably with the unnatural qualities of their surroundings. This doesn't lessen any upon seeing the light at the end of the tunnel they came upon- worsened, if anything. "No idea what that is, but I don't like the way this all feels. Better safe than sorry, yeah?" Aria glares at the light. "There's nothing wrong with sticking on the side of caution and being prepared in case it is something bad." Adagio nods. None of them have any idea what to really expect at the end of this tunnel, but considering all the dangerous they encountered on the way here, and earlier information about the whereabouts of the other paradox pokemon, theres a lot of doubt over this being something good.

"Something powerful is waiting in there, I can sense it." Larimar whispered. Her usual bright smile had vanished, replaced with grim determination. "Everyone, get your Pokemon at the ready, just in case."

Larimar released her Ceruledge. Nemona sent out her Pawmot, Penny her Sylveon, etc.

And they entered the final chamber where the light was shining from.

A few things caught their attention. First of all, at the back of the room was a massive crystal spire, roughly carved in the shape of a throne. Hovering slightly above it was an indistinguishable blob of light. In a darker corner of the room, to the left side of the throne, sat a small, turtle-looking creature, curled up in a ball and trembling in fear. But it was hard to focus on anything other than the light blob- it almost forced the group to behold it, tearing their eyes away from anything else.

"Well, look who finally got here! I've been waiting ages and ages and ages!" The voice, which seemed to be coming from the light blob, was nasally and childish, but still resonant with power, amplified by the crystal that the chamber was composed of.

Larimar spoke first.

"We're not here to fight. We just want our friends back. Where are they?"

"Oh, you mean these?" The ground split open, and two chunks of crystal rose to the surface- containing Jayden, and a short girl with dirty blonde hair that they had never seen before, presumably Madison. Both of them had their eyes closed and looked to be unconscious. "Well... I guess I could give them back to you. They're boring, anyway."

Larimar swallowed. She was shaking like a leaf in the face of this... creature, which they could barely comprehend.

"What are you, exactly?"

"What am I? Why, I'm Terapagos, of course! And you must be Lani, Adagio, Aria, Sonata, Juniper, Willow, Scoundrel, Nemona, Penny..."

"Interesting... I have read stories and myths all about you, Terapagos. How you have the purest of terastal forms, how you are the embodiment of it and how truly powerful you are..." Willow trailed off, clearly in a state of starstruck admiration.

"Willow, kiddo, you can admire the kidnapping tera turtle later. We've gotta give the guys forms to work with, just us and our pokémon aren't going to be enough."

"Wait, you mean I get to be given form?"

"Is that really true?"

The Frosts both nod before removing a pair of oddly shaped purple crystals from the backs of the two masks, setting them on top of... plates? The spooky plate and the meadow plate respectively, seems the pair had been holding on to them the entire time, just hidden away carefully within their costumes. Bright light shimmering as the crystals began glowing, purple mist engulfing them as glittering snowflakes and leaves surrounded the mist.

Cordelia and Atticus, given true form for the first time since Jubilife was but a village.

Lumipallo, Lex, Trixie, Lance, Fright and Sparks stood behind Juniper and Cordelia, forming a wall behind them.

Calamity, Grievance, Sardonic, Hazard, Lamentation and Macabre doing the same behind Willow and Atticus.

Okay this is not what she expected.

Sparkly turtle that looked beautiful but was completely radiating power. Okay. Okay.

"So. You're saying you're gonna give them back right?"

Scoundrel was trying to be careful with their words, hoping that they didn't have to fight this thing.

"So you'll let them out, we can go, and no one has to fight."

In their past, they would have been itching for a fight, and well sometimes they still do if it feels deserved.

Right now thought? They could feel there was stakes here that could put multiple lives in danger. Right now, it was better to be a diplomat than go in guns blazing.

It didn't even know what Terapagos could do.

It didn't want to find out.

All three of them followed in hesitantly, their pokeballs in hand. All of them are nervous, and it's not lessened by the experience they'd have once in the room, Aria in particular glaring at the light, though her sisters seemed just as wary, simply... less aggressively. They stayed quiet, until the crystal chunks emerged, all of them expressing varying degrees of shock, and once again in usual Aria fashion, a notable amount of anger as well. Both her and Adagio scoff at the comment of boredom, as if these people were toys, though Sonata has resumed hiding behind her sisters and doesn't react strongly to much in specific, until her and her sisters names are called, prompting her to gasp once more. Her sisters anger sure doesn't dissipate at this. "So you know about us, big deal. Are you going to give them back, or what?" Aria hisses out. Adagio opened her mouth as if she were to speak, but chooses to allow her sister to take charge for once.

"Aww, you're gonna make me blush!" Terapagos said, pleased by Willow's reverence. "Do I want to give them back? Hmm... I dunno..."

"What do you want, then?" Nemona asked. "Why do all this?"

"Oh! That's a good question!" The turtle responded. Its form seemed to be solidifying now, from a blob of light to a hexagonal disk shining brightest blue. "Really, I'm just doing this because it's fun! Letting all the paradoxes out to play? That's fun! Soo... unless you can offer me something more fun... I guess we have to fight now. What a downer."

The turtle sighed, sounding like a toddler who had just been told they couldn't have another cookie.

"But if you're gonna interrupt my playtime, I guess I've got no choice! Get 'em!"

From around the chamber, Paradox Pokemon descended in all sorts of forms, some ancient, some futuristic. The feathery Salamence they had seen before appeared, flapping its wings as it hovered over the group.

"It's an ambush!" Larimar yelled, releasing her Ceruledge. "Fight back, everyone! Razor, Swords Dance!"

This was exactly what they wanted to NOT happen, let's just hope they can all make it out in one piece.

Scoundrel re-releases Ruby to use a dragon claw on one of the ancient pokemon coming their way.

"We can't have a fun fight and not a fight to the death huh?!?! "

Let's just say that Scoundrel was not a good negotiator, she truly didn't know what they could give Terapagos to get it to stand down.

Larimar spoke first.

"We're not here to fight. We just want our friends back. Where are they?"

"Oh, you mean these?" The ground split open, and two chunks of crystal rose to the surface- containing Jayden, and a short girl with dirty blonde hair that they had never seen before, presumably Madison. Both of them had their eyes closed and looked to be unconscious. "Well... I guess I could give them back to you. They're boring, anyway."

Larimar swallowed. She was shaking like a leaf in the face of this... creature, which they could barely comprehend.

"What are you, exactly?"

"What am I? Why, I'm Terapagos, of course! And you must be Lani, Adagio, Aria, Sonata, Juniper, Willow, Scoundrel, Nemona, Penny..."

"Willow, kiddo, you can admire the kidnapping tera turtle later. We've gotta give the guys forms to work with, just us and our pokémon aren't going to be enough."

The Frosts both nod before removing a pair of oddly shaped purple crystals from the backs of the two masks, setting them on top of... plates? The spooky plate and the meadow plate respectively, seems the pair had been holding on to them the entire time, just hidden away carefully within their costumes. Bright light shimmering as the crystals began glowing, purple mist engulfing them as glittering snowflakes and leaves surrounded the mist.

Cordelia and Atticus, given true form for the first time since Jubilife was but a village.

Lumipallo, Lex, Trixie, Lance, Fright and Sparks stood behind Juniper and Cordelia, forming a wall behind them.

Calamity, Grievance, Sardonic, Hazard, Lamentation and Macabre doing the same behind Willow and Atticus.

In their past, they would have been itching for a fight, and well sometimes they still do if it feels deserved.

Right now thought? They could feel there was stakes here that could put multiple lives in danger. Right now, it was better to be a diplomat than go in guns blazing.

It didn't even know what Terapagos could do.
