I feel like something is deeply wrong with me
I have got to chill the fuck out holy shit
I do unfortunately love making myself upset for no discernible reason. Love to put myself into a scenario in my brain
Vent posting bc a friend follows me on my main now but GOD I hate being mentally ill
The urge to lash out and just blow up my relationship and all my friendships is so strong
Like I feel SO insecure and afraid for NO REASON fucking. Wounded animal hours
I just want attention without asking for it is it so hard (I know I know I need to be an adult and articulate my needs or whatever the fucj but I don’t WANT to)
But then it’s like a toss up bc my gf is bad at texting and sometimes I’ll be like hey I feel bad and not hear back from her for like an hours bc she’s not on her phone.
Actually that’s not fair bc if I called she would absolutely come be with me

A few hours post water-change! Last Friday I spent some time picking out dead leaves and clipping off damaged ones. I still got some anubias in the back that need a few damaged leaves clipped, but I'll save that for next weekend.
The Little Tennessee River Basin is a treasure trove of aquatic biodiversity, and a novel partnership has come together to help ensure it stays that way.
Beneath their roaring rapids and shimmering surfaces, the streams of Southern Appalachia hide a little-known treasure.
The hundreds of spring-fed rivers that crisscross this mountainous region are home to one of the most diverse arrays of aquatic species found anywhere in the temperate world. A unique combination of highly varied topography, a relatively stable climate, and refugia for species during periods of glaciation have come together to make the Southern Appalachian mountains the perfect home for hundreds of species of fish, mussels, crayfish, aquatic insects and more.
One of the jewels in this crown of biodiversity is the Little Tennessee River Basin.
With headwaters in north Georgia, the “Little T” flows north for seven miles before crossing into North Carolina. From there it snakes another 125 miles southwest before it crosses into Tennessee, where it joins the Tennessee River. On this journey, it is joined by many tributaries large and small, and together they comprise the Little T River Basin. With more than 100 species of native fish, 10 native mussels and a dozen native crayfish, the basin has been designated a global biological hotspot. Experts believe that some river reaches within the basin still hold the same array of species that they did before the arrival of the first European settlers…

skimming wikipedia lists about african freshwater fish is so funny because it’s always like
Cichlids a ten mile long paragraphs about the bajillion different unique and often endemic species of cichlids in this particular lake or whatever. there are so fucking many cichlids. a quite frankly preposterous amount of cichlids. every cichlid you’ve ever heard of and then some live in this fucking lake. you begin to wonder if there’s any lake at all or if it’s just a vat full of cichlids in the african wilderness. you begin to wonder if africa itself is just a vat full of cichlids. no cities. no people. no life. only cichlids, as far as the eye can see
Other species uhh there’s like a tetra i think
this is from the wikipedia page on lake victoria
Froggie :)
today’s funky frog of the day is: excidobates mysteriosus! commonly known as the marañón poison frog, they are endemic to peru. their natural habitat is premontane forest near the drainage of the marañón river. unfortunately, they are threatened by habitat loss due to human settlements, and they are collected for international trade. the small frogs grow only a little over an inch long as adults, and their polka-dots make them one of the most distinctive poison frogs. unusually, breeding takes place inside of bromeliads, a family of monocot flowering plants. males call from inside these flowers, letting out a rattle-like buzz. because of the limited population, their lifespan is unknown and not much other research has been conducted.

A couple smol freshwater fish ballpoint drawings, from maybe a couple months ago? What can I say, drawing fish is good fun.
