This show has made my brain automatically analyze the storyline development of every fictional couple I’ve seen over the past week.

Buck immersed himself in baking, while Tommy, after work, went to his long-missed favorite bakery. He bought a slice of his favorite cake, and when he got home, he took a bite. The familiar sweetness made him sigh. But in the next moment, he remembered that for the past six months, he’d been eating only Buck’s cakes—Buck had been working tirelessly to improve his baking to please Tommy, so Tommy had hardly visited this bakery. He set down his fork, gazing at the cake, as a complex feeling stirred within him.

Although it’s a bit personal, I think there’s no need to analyze their breakup in 8x06. If it had been placed in 8x05, it could be called setup; in 8x01, it might have even served as good foreshadowing. But when the setup just minutes before in the same episode leads to their breakup, I can only call it poor writing.

After thinking about it for a long time I decided to write this,

I have been watching this show since the first season, Buck has always been my favorite, I like Buck and his LI, Buck and Abby for a while was even one of the motivations for me to watch the first season (until she never came back). Except for Talia (sorry), I know why Buck broke up and was ready to move on, but not Buck and Tommy.

Maybe because of the break between 8x05 and 8x06 they wanted to stabilize the ratings or something (I don't blame them), they basically filmed 8x05 after 8x06 and then gave a hasty and unreasonable breakup in 8x06.

I don't know what GA thinks, but you can't convince me of this after 8x05, it's a bad plot (and then they also connected Tommy with Abby, I can't even). These things don't fit the character development at all, I'm just frustrated that this show and the producers chose to develop it this way, I will continue to watch this show, maybe for a break while, maybe until this season is over (or Tommy returns, but I don't have any hope).

I do think there is some kind of will or supernatural in 9-1-1 universe. Like Jinx, the SOS call from seven years ago, the crow with chimney and Maddney house, it's just impossible to explain otherwise. 🧐Eddie and Tommy are going to lose badly.

Buck somehow stumbled upon a real mummy, and his skin became infected. Luckily, it wasn’t contagious as long as there was no direct contact. Despite a staff shortage on Halloween, Buck still went to work that day, but the infection on his body worsened. Buck, feeling down, said, “🥺 I look so ugly, Tommy won’t want me anymore,” or something similar. They then had a conversation that felt like a rehearsal for the realities of life, illness, and death. Tommy comforted him with a few reassuring words, promising he wouldn't leave, but added, "You know I still have to wait until you're cured before I can touch you, right?"

Tommy: "This boy is so weird. Is he flirting with me, or does he just want to visit?"

Tommy: "This boy is so weird. Did he really want to get to know me and then end up hurting his best friend?"

Tommy: "This boy is so weird. How can he date with a man and still call himself an ally?"

Tommy: "This boy is so weird. He wants me to meet his family at his sister’s wedding as his date?"

Even though Tommy kept thinking the boy was getting weirder and weirder… he kept saying yes, again and again…

Buck gently removes Tommy’s arm from around his body, quietly slipping out of bed. He picks up his hoodie from the foot of the bed, pulls it over his head, and slowly descends the stairs. Standing on the balcony outside the loft, Buck gazes at the horizon as the sun slowly rises over LA. A cool morning breeze brushes past, and Buck huddles deeper into his hoodie.

“Isn’t it a bit too early for a day off?”

Buck turns around and sees Tommy standing by the kitchen table, bathed in the golden glow of the sunrise. Tommy is wearing nothing but boxer briefs, his muscles highlighted by the warm, amber light. He just stands there, quietly waiting for Buck, watching him with gentle eyes. When Buck’s gaze finally meets his, a soft smile tugs at Tommy’s lips, his expression becoming tender. The faint lines around his eyes are even more noticeable in the glowing light.

“It’s just… this is my last day living here.”

Buck glances at the remaining boxes on the floor next to Tommy.

“It feels like I just moved in yesterday,” he sighs.

Tommy chuckles lightly, taking a few steps to lean against the doorframe leading to the balcony.

“I hope our house won’t give you the same feeling. I want every moment we spend together to feel long enough.”

Buck’s heart swells with love, and for a moment, he is at a loss for words. He simply walks toward Tommy and embraces him tightly. Tommy’s warm hands wrap around Buck’s waist, holding him close.

They stand there for a while, until the golden light slowly begins to fade. Tommy gently takes Buck’s hand, and together they return to bed, curling up in each other’s arms, drifting back to sleep.
