I hate to be that person, but do you think that Nia's mom was lying when she said that Nia had that pain disorder? It was weird to hear her mention it for the first time in season 3, when Nia had been injured before then, and then she nor Nia ever mention it again after that? Also, Nia has never specifically said she had that, as far as I can tell? I don't know, I could be wrong, I'd rather be wrong, but it just always seemed weird to me.

Okay anon this is really sick to think that way.

First, Nia was rarely even talked about much less focused on before the singing rivalry with Kendall in S5/6. Like they were not going to spend several episodes discussing her personal health issues.

Second, out of all the moms Holly is one of the last moms that I think would lie about anything, especially a serious medical condition.

Third, when Holly spoke about it they showed pictures of Nia in the hospital and in school in a wheelchair from the RND episode she had a couple years before Dance Moms where she woke up one day and couldn’t walk that caused her to be diagnosed.

As a person that has close family that have lived with pain disorders for a very long time I can say that it just becomes like part of everyone’s normal lives and they just learn to live with the pain and people don’t really talk about it unless they have a serious flare up of the disease to the point where it affects how you function in your life. Nia and Holly have just accepted that Nia will always have some degree of pain as a part of their normal lives and that it is not something that they want to focus on and talk about all the time. As a result of some degree of daily pain having become the norm for Nia it won’t be talked about all the time and they will likely only talk about it if/when Nia is having an abnormal(for her) amount of pain because that could mean she may need some type of treatment.
