Solvang's 78th Danish Days
Since coming back to SLO, I've been pretty eager to explore the Central Coast as much as I can and this past weekend Nate and I hit up the Danish Festival in Solvang.
We were given a brochure and this badge from Solvang's mayor! Didn't even recognize him since he was dressed up as festively as everyone in town!
And hitting up the Central Coast's premier Danish town, we had some fresh Æbleskivers as soon as we made it downtown.
We had Elderberry Tea and split a Danish Meatball Sandwich for Linner (lunch +dinner) at Solvang's Bacon and Brine.
...and enjoyed a little digestif at The Good Life.
Angelique Heron was this year's 78th Danish Maid and her mother even held this title back in 1988! Talk about good genes!
Right before the Children's Parade we caught a glimpse of one of the parade performers out in a garden. She was so cute! Maybe she'll have a Danish Maid title in the near future? :)
Between the parade...
the arts...
...and Danish-themed activities--we had so much fun in this little town/village.
We even got to hit up Mission Santa Ines (the second mission I've ever been to in California).
