The South African Township of Alexandra has become the first location in the world to have a solar powered connection center that will transport the township folk through the digital highway to a destination of their choice.

The world’s first custom-designed connection center, launched by the young entrepreneur Peter Graham of Solar Charge, is an integrated, self-contained, mobile solar powered shipping container, which will provide 100 percent off-grid power for multiple and simultaneous internet user access.

What does sustainable living look like: Dutch Mountain

The need to apply green techniques in architecture and daily life is more than clear and fortunately many initiatives are being undertaken to achieve that. You can think of green hybrid or electric cars, the use of solar energy in homes and office buildings etc. One of the recent appealing initiatives is that of the Dutch, Amsterdam based, design studio called ‘Denieuwegeneratie’ (translated: Thenextgeneration). They designed a fully self sufficient home with a great design too. This combination resulted in a self-sufficient hill home.

Unique High Level Park

The High Line Park in NYC

The High Line is a 1-mile (1.6 km) New York City linear park built on a 1.45-mile (2.33 km) section of the former elevated New York Central Railroad spur called the West Side Line, which runs along the lower west side of Manhattan; it has been redesigned and planted as an aerial greenway. The High Line Park currently runs from Gansevoort Street, three blocks below West 14th Street, in the Meatpacking District, up to 30th Street, through the neighborhood of Chelsea to the West Side Yard, near the Javits Convention Center.
