A bad name for a terror group: ISIS

A shame that terror group calls itself ISIS (even if that is an abbr. that stand for their programmatic goal); that goddess (!) was identified with cattle and the sanctity of life according to Plutarch [1] and the general canon as far as I am aware.

I OBJECT!

A 4 piece DIY vegan straight edge band hailing from Syracuse and Buffalo, New York. They play an intelligent brand of hardcore which is angry and wild yet still melodic. The lyrics are predominantly political but also involve some family issues and women’s issues. When touring, they make a huge effort to play all ages venues. They’ve produced an expansive discography after forming in 2003 eventhough they tour a lot.

vegan sxe from palermo 2007 I can't understand, why don't you feel compassion?  when i look into their eyes, they speak to me! They don't wanna be the main characters of this absurd holocaust,  where speciesism is the rule they have to follow, where money is the reason why they die,  where cruelty is the reason why they continue to suffer,  why they continue to be murdered. Last night, thinking about them, i felt a little shine fall down in my heart, cause they have no voice in this world, cause they are defenseless, and we love them because they are defenseless; but sometimes i feel myself so little in front of this;  i try to react and i try to scream for them,  while you continue to don't listen at their cries,  covering your ears and your eyes.. so i'm trying to escape from all this,  cause i don't want to suffocate in a compromise to survive;  this little heart is filled with pain,  and all that i want is to scream two words in the air.... liberate them!

The not so subtle speciesisms still find their ways into some vegan heads

We as vegans know lists of animal derivates!

Now some people act, like we needed an "aesthetized" objectification of a representative, symbolic, yet real nonhuman in a work of "art" to learn again what we already know.

Namely for example this (German) vegan shop offers this objectifying designers book (you might have already heard about): PIG 05049 by dutch designer Christien Meindertsma

at 6:30 "the most beautiful thing I found" ... is the heart valve and how it's being used in human heart surgery. "this can be implanted into a human heart without a open heart surgery" clearly advocating the use of this body part ...

she says she is "more fond of raw materials in general" than pigs, of whom she says she is "little bit fond" at about 8:20.

Vegans promoting work like this miss the not so fine line between documentary value and aestheticized speciesism.

The "history" of vivisection.

You can't weigh out the "advantages" of intrusive research on (any) animals (in human too) with the argument that human well-being matters more that that of an animal individual. If you do so, you are on unethical grounds. And you can see in the "history" of vivisection, back to Galen, to Descartes and until now, that this branch of human "civilization" marks also the chapter of the full ethical downfall of society. Or does anybody want to deny the state of global destruction we are living in? No way back, no way out, but still we will always fight for justice and animal liberation - against all odds, It's a David against Goliath type of fight.

Vegans can still be speciesist, I see that so often, just look around and don't ignore it, as if it was inexsitent.
