For this weeks entry we have Stranger Things !

Stranger Things is a show I highly recommend, but only if you want to stop after the first 3 seasons.

3/5 star rating, I think it's a good show to get into if you like character depth and are interested in the downfall of writing/ characters. The first three seasons stay true to the show's outcast sci-fi vibe, but lose their plot after season three.

While I don't have an in depth opinion on season 4 of Stranger Things, other than it should have ended at 3, and 4 was an unnecessary continuation. In season 5, there were many inconsistencies, such as Will's previously established connection to the Upside Down, its ruler, and its demodogs. This creates a major plot hole because Will can feel the pain of the demodogs, but feels no pain as all three of them are destroyed.

I also personally feel as though a show that uses outcast and shows how being different isn't a bad thing and that you can find happiness regardless of challenges, lost its plot when the main character Will is backgrounded in his own show and while other characters get to have multi season long relationships he's stuck as the queer background character who's story line is the show "acceptance" instead of the ability to find love.

i recommend because its a really good show and it may seem cute but the underlying themes are dark and contrast to the shows art style.

i do think the characters decisions can be a bit annoying at times but it is because they're middle schoolers dealing with a problem that could end society and should not be all in their hands. the one character who i would critique is mami because she was reckless and stupid, she led those girls in trouble and knew what they would encounter as magical girls, but she encouraged them to become a magical girls anyways due to selfishness. but overall each wish the magical girls make ties in well with their character and makes for a good immersive show.

MIraculous Ladybug Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir ★★★★★

Summary:

The show's first season started off as a slice of life superhero show. The show had the basic heroes and supervillains and havoc from time to time. The show takes place in Paris and follows the life of 2 teenage Marinette and Adrien. These 2 are aided by magical jewels called miraculous which transform them into the superheroes Ladybug and Chat Noir. They protect the city from the menacing Hawkmothe who has the power to make other villains in order to reach his goal of stealing the superheroes magical jewels. Ladybug and Chat Noir don't know each other's secret identities, this leads them to have some romantic tension inside and outside the mask which leads to romance problems as living double life and managing a love life is unmanageable. And their love square which drives many fans crazy

Jacki: “So I like ladybug and chat noir, and they’re the best ship bc their lovey and they can trust each other to the fullest and they're cute. The new season is so good and it has such a good plot, at first the show was boring and there was no real plot but towards season 4 it was so interesting and so many new characters were introduced.The characters go through so many struggles and there are so many good scenes. I don't like how in the new season there is a whole team of superheroes now I LOVED the whole dynamic ladybug and cat noir used to have when it was only them 2. “

“I'd recommend this show if you like slow burn because you'd enjoy the love square , and the fandom is so big so there is a large community which you could interact with and talk about characters. Also the show is really inclusive which is another reason why I'd recommend it.”

Wednesday - show: ★★★☆☆ (rating of S1)

First season was kinda fire then it went lame. Season 2 part 1 was um cringe but I had hope but then when part 2 came out I dropped it. After many edits on my Instagram feed about season 2 part 2 I once again became interested in picking up the show.

Summary:

The first season of Wednesday follows the story of young Wednesday Addams, a dark, blunt and coldhearted girl in her new school, a boarding school for outcasts called Nevermore Academy due to her getting expelled from her previous school. This unordinary school meant for "outcasts" referring to those with special abilities was the home to Wednesday's parents in their youth therefore she was sent here in hopes of finding her a place to belong. In a strange, mysterious, intriguing fun school, Wednesday's main goal is to leave. During her stay Wednesday starts to unlock her psychic powers which branch from her family's origins. Her curious and dark nature gets her involved in investigating the town's mysterious monstrous killing spree. She finds out this eerie mystery is connected to her family's past involving a centuries old prophecy and therefore her psychic visions aid her in meddling with the investigation. Throughout her journey she uncovers the school and town's secrets while ultimately confronting the monster terrarizing the town.

Season 1 is an everything burger although season 2 is a nothing burger

For this weeks entry we are recommending Bones and All!

I ( Mea ) rate Bones and All a 5/5.

I think it’s a great coming of age movie and shows how the children inherit issues from their parents and have to carry it with them throughout life.

It beautifully features two teens Maren and Lee as they struggle to survive their cannibalistic urges and staying true to their morals.

My personal interpretation of their inherited cannibalism is that it is a reflection children not inherit their parents eyes but also their parents' diseases, addictions, and violence.
