Well, Hope’s having some weird, midlife existential crisis thing. But I was talking about the little one. Kellan decided it was he and Reagan…bond, and apparently he wants to use her closet to rebuild the shrine.

Isn’t she...past midlife at this point? That sounds...certifiably terrifying.

She’d punch you only because she has to deny having favorites even when it’s extremely obvious. But Khei does have a strange way of weasling herself into people’s hearts without meaning too.

Honestly I think it can vary at times. There were times when you were a better brother than me. I can admit that now because I know I used to be an asshole. I just try to make up for it now. That, she does.

I don’t know, I haven’t lived long enough to do anything yet. And everything I am came from the way Mom took care of me, I haven’t been around as long as any of you. But I met Victoria the night we moved here. She was living with us at the boardinghouse until you, uh, as my mom put it…grew a pair and stopped being a girl. I like her though, she’s been pretty cool to be around.

Well, I believe it. You grew up in a good environment. By your age I was...already messed up. It doesn’t mean I couldn’t redeem myself but...it was a rough journey. And, without Beca, Victoria, without my family I’m not much. Without them for that sixteen years...let’s just say I didn’t do very well without them. Yeah...I want to propose soon but I’m not quite sure how to do it perfectly. You have any suggestions?

His name is Jesse and he’s our new brother apparently that I wasn’t expecting to pop up. I guess in my head I just thought it was just you, Kheiland, Carter, Josh and me. And then who knows where Max is? I guess it was just, uh, stupid for me to think there couldn’t be more siblings somewhere.

I highly doubt any cool new brother is going to replace you as her favorite. I think you and Khei are stuck with those roles.

I never said favorite, I’m sure she’d punch me if I did. We just shared a womb so she’s stuck with me. Kheiland has her own weird way of being everyone’s favorite.

I’m pretty sure she hasn’t met him yet, he hasn’t even been here a week. I have a feeling she’ll think he’s cooler than me, too. I’m still her twin so she has to love me more, though.

He’s...annoying but the girls think he’s great. Melanie and Emilia, that is. But...you’ll just have to decide for yourself when you find him. Realistically I don’t know much about him yet but...he’s definitely our brother.

I’m not picking one side of me over the other, and if I was…well, my dad’s family has been a lot more present since I got here. But I doubt the ego is as bad as my mother’s. Or my grandmother even. People keep telling me that, I don’t know if I believe it.

Have you met Victoria? She’s the best person I know. Why wouldn’t you believe it?

Of course I did. And I found the perfect ring eighteen years ago. Now I just need to find the perfect place and time to ask you to marry me.

Yeah, trust me I am painfully aware of how long it’s been. But my language is not nearly as bad as my mom’s.

Embrace the Salvatore side, it’s the best part of you. I know people think I have a big ego, because I do but it’s not for no reason. You’re probably a better man than I’ll ever be, though.
