Another quick personal project! It's fun experimenting with my own visual language, seeing what works and what doesn't!

Lately I've been trying to translate more of my inner feelings into visual pieces, as I've been feeling like I sort of lost touch with my art. I'm happy to say that as weeks go by I'm having easier time figuring out the way I feel like drawing and accepting all the imperfections. I want to think that personal art shouldn't be so difficult to make, but on the contrary, it could be sort of a relief

Hi! I wanna show you the painting that I did, based on a story that I'm writing with a friend, featuring a fallen god of war and his savior, a military priest who finds him. The story is supposed to be dark, with a heavy anti-war undertone, focused on psychology of the bond between these two characters! A priest and lieutenant, Tirstan, who in his thirst for victory sells peace in favor of chaos and glory, handed over by an ancient god. Let me know your thoughts and if you'd be interested in learning more about them :] I'm currently just very happy that I'm working my way through doing finished illustrations, and actually enjoying the process, rather than just painting character concepts <3 To celebrate that I can, in fact, paint, here's also a cool lil gif of a process that I've made! It's a rewarding feeling when you see just how layered the whole process was, the way I corrected mistakes -- and also made new ones along the way xD

Alriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight Varric time. I swear, this is like 4th time I tried drawing him, just trying to force my way through whatever problem I'm having with art these days. This was supposed to be a pretty ambitious illustration, but after hours of failing to paint what I had imagined, it turned into just this very sketchy piece, that, at least, I like :3 Varric, darling, I'll be back for you with something better, I promise.

Heeeyy it's Varric time again!! >:D I've wanted to sketch out a quick costume redesign, something to get warmed up. It's been some time since I did any casual art

aaa experimenting with some new oc! Also trying to find a way to sketch faster, but also add colors in the process. The ground still feels rocky but I think it's going the right way! ♥ Also drawing expressions omg I forgot how difficult those are! Anyways, this is Tristan, an ex priest in this fantasy setting inspired by happenings of WW1. I really hope to introduce him a bit better in the future :)

The last two weeks were such a trip! I was never the biggest history geek, but lately I've been quite obsessed with everything WWI-related after watching All Quiet On The Western Front. The movie was so heavy and moving, and it easily became one of my favorite movies. I'm fairly certain that I'll never be able to speak about all the important names and dates of this world-changing event, but more than ever, I'm feeling eager to learn more about what it was like to live the life of a soldier.

This is an illustration inspired by my friend's character. I'm very happy that I finally did another portrait, as my soul kind of needed that satisfaction. Now that I've figured that out, I'll try to focus more on painting those. I think a lot of us have this feeling that if we are painting themes we enjoy, we are not getting the most of our practice, and that creates pressure. I wanna think that now once I'm aware of that problem, I'll be able to do something about it, but let's see.. :)
