“Adam, you never cease to puzzle me….it’s barely 24 hours since the experiment was completed. You’ve got what you want, and to look at you, one would think the whole thing was a complete disaster.”

At Blair House (*sorry, Barnabas, the “newlyweds” haven’t left town…lol), Adam engages in some deep thinking on his honeymoon (*did he even have one?). Why did Stokes say Eve was evil? Why did Leona Eltridge die? Nicholas offers easy explanations—-Stokes is in cahoots with Barnabas now and Leona wanted to “give life” before she died of her terminal illness. Nicholas, however, is plainly shocked when Adam describes the manifestations that occurred post-experiment. He quickly recovers himself and encourages Adam to concentrate on making Eve happy. Hovering in the doorway, Eve is less than thrilled with these instructions.

“You have Eve now. You’re happy with her, aren’t you?”

"Yes. Very happy."

" Good. You must begin to concentrate all your attentions on Eve. You must make her happy with you."

"You were meant to be mine!"

"And you think of me as a piece of property, as something you own!…A woman doesn’t like to be thought of in those terms."

Scenes From a (Monster) Marriage. Adam isn’t having much luck with Eve. She hates “this house.”  Adam says Nicholas plans to take them away where they can be happy together. Eve reminds Adam that they barely know each other. Adam reminds Eve that she was created to be his mate. Eve refuses to be thought of as property. Adam apologizes, but she is still impatient with him and sends him to bed. She wants to be alone. Confused, he says goodnight. Furious, Eve stabs the table. Nicholas is amused.

"If you’re going to tear the furniture apart, I can get you something much more practical than a letter opener."

"I can’t bear the sight of Adam! He’s ugly, he’s boring, and he’s stupid!"

"Sorry you feel that way."

"I don’t feel that way about you. You’re different….You’re intelligent, exciting, charming. You’re my kind of man!"

Eve puts the moves on Nicholas. She can’t stand Adam and would much prefer a man like Nicholas. She’d be willing to kill Adam to get rid of him. Nicholas is impressed with Eve’s evilness and agrees that she’s his kind of woman. “Evil from head to foot.” But no deal. Her only future is with Adam. She says he’s insane. She hates Adam. Nicholas couldn’t care less. She will make nicey nice with the big guy or he will end her existence.

"You can hate him all you want. As long as you don’t show it. He expects you to love him. and that is exactly what you are going to do."

"No, I won’t!"

"Oh, I like your spirit! But I will not tolerate defiance. You will do as I say or your life will end, just as suddenly as it began."

Nicholas writes Maggie a check for Sam’s painting. Maggie tells him her romantic troubles. Nicholas says she’s too beautiful to waste time on a lost cause.  Maggie thanks him for his kindness (lol). Joe arrives.. Maggie greets him with a loving hug. Nicholas leaves, covering his displeasure with a smile.
