Nicholas was adopted by Robert “Bobby” Morris and Frank Morris when he was five years old.
He was raised by two incredibly loving men than owned a hardware store together. However, Bobby is the one that is around the most. Frank’s bigger passion is avoiding long winded conversation, unlike his significant other.
In addition to Nicholas, he has two younger adopted siblings. Growing up, they all worked at the hardware store. They stocked shelves and helped customers with their orders. The Morris family is one of the few shops around that is still managing to exist despite the big chains that have moved in around Tupelo. Their customer service can beat that of any other.
It’s from his parent that he adapted the charm that he has. All his years down at the hardware store from, wandering around as a kid and as an employee, he learned how to connect with the people that stepped into the family store.
This charm is one that he’s carried for as long as he can remember. And his loyalty is no match. Nicholas truly wants to see people smile, make people feel good about themselves and well, if they happen to make him feel good too, he has never complained.
A man like himself has always been clear of his intentions and there was no shortage of people that knew that about him. Despite his dating around in high school and of course, college, most of his relationships ended on good terms.
It was, however, one particular woman that left him in heart ache. At 30 years old, the man did not think that he would ever settle down. He was convinced that he’d spend his days with himself and the company of anyone he so pleased at the end of the day. Falling in love with his childhood best friend was never part of the plan while he was in college of all places.
They were spending so much time together, that his feelings developed during his time in college and well, Nicholas took it upon himself to propose two years into their relationship. After a one year engagement, Nicholas was ready to spend the rest of his life with her. However, she did not have the same plans.
Standing up at the alter, his nerves were through the roof and after waiting and waiting for longer than he should have, he was brought to the side to be told that she had run off. Nicholas was left with no explanation for quite some time. Until, he found out that she was in love with someone else. Someone Nicholas had always found to be a little too close with her, but she always said nothing was going on.
At thirty years old, his life was turned upside down. He was in medical school, committing to a career for the rest of his life and he had wanted her to be with him, by each other’s sides. It turned something off in Nicholas he didn’t know he existed. Only because she was the same person to turn it on. The man wasn’t going to fall in love again.
For quite some time he licked his wounds. Friends forced him out of bed and he lacked the same charm. In due time, it came back. He was Nicholas Morris again. The one and only Nicholas that people loved and adored at the end of the day.
Five years later, Nicholas is finding himself in the same boat once more. Falling in love with his best friend. Louella Dunn has always been in his life as her brother is one of his best friends. They entertained the idea of a relationship in the eight grade but a few months ago, the two of them tangled up in sheets after playing pool together and well, the rest was basically history.
A little back and forth, avoidance and eventually a talk led them to finding themselves in each other’s company far more often. Nicholas is falling hard for the woman and isn’t sure when we will be able to admit that and risk the chance at getting his heart broke again.
