Writing under the cut:
id say probably my favorite part of the badger cereal dynamic is how it totally flips the "young scrappy superhero and rich suave supervillain" thing on its head.
vlad is mainly driven by emotion. he's petty and jealous and lashes out at people and its so interesting because you're presented with this character who appears to be very formal and uptight but he's just so childish at times.
you typically see the young hero being driven by their anger or passion or whatever but danny doesnt even seem to want to be a hero. he's not doing this out of a strong desire to help people or anything. he has no dramatic backstory motivating him to act the way he does. he's a hero because its the right thing to do no matter what he feels about it.
its just so fun because danny tends to go with logic over feelings, while vlad goes with feelings over logic, so danny usually ends up the more rational one in the dynamic. its just super great i really like it.
Honestly I need Vlad being so horrified of Danny's taste in partners. Like originally he was concentrating on marrying Danny's mother and kill Danny's father and like take Danny as his son but the more he tries to spy on Danny the more concerned and horrified he becomes by Danny's taste in partners and is actively trying to get him out of situations where he can get himself killed.
Paulina? Pity he doesn't think much of it she just dated him for the fun of it and to humiliate him. Unfortunate but it happens
Valerie. Girl tried to hunt Danny's phantom side. Concerning but not out of the ordinary as long as he makes sure she doesn't end him. He still wants him as his son after all.
Sam. This is where it's getting concerning. This girl does not only like your phantom side only but has killed you TWICE?! Daniel I think it's time we have a talk about how your relationship is the equivalent of me dating Jack except he's super into plasmus.
Dash. Daniel I believe we need to have a very important conversation about abusive relationships and red flags.
Wes. Daniel I'm starting to doubt your ability to think. That's the boy who's constantly trying to expose your identity
Then in continues on. and on vlad successfully breaking up Danny with whatever partner he has with Danny pouting asking for the reason being mad as Vlad looks at him dead in the eyes as he slowly explains his reasoning and Danny can't even be mad because what does have a point unlike other times (he's still salty that he had to break up with Wes though)
Unfortunately Jezz has the same taste and Vlad believes it's due to her influence that Danny is like this. So he talks to Jazz and figures out she's lesbian and gets her to date a nice girl that she actually likes.
Vlad hopes with jazz being in a good stable relationship Danny will learn. Unfortunately he did not as the next time he saw him was again with Wes who made danny a memory book of all the things he had in his childhood.
Vlad does not want to learn how he managed to acquire items that had been lost years ago.
With Danny's parents permission he moves them to Wisconsin in the hopes that Danny will find or somehow gain better taste in a new area.
The ninja assassin proposing to Daniel after a month of dating did not help.
Vlad: Daniel you cannot be seriously thinking of accepting that proposal are you?
Danny: well he's nice! Really cute as well treated me better than all my previous partners isn't that what you wanted?
Vlad: think Daniel. It's only been a month and he's already asking you to marry him. Next thing you know you have kids with him and then he leaves you after losing interest. This is love bombing I assumed you knew this from your parents after experiencing it for years. How long did it even take you to date him?
Danny: *looking down in shame* three days... But according to his culture committing to one person for life is normal! Like true love and the fairy tales you know?
Vlad: Daniel he's in a cult. A cult with a old man with corrupted ectoplasm interested in me. You are not marrying into a cult.
It only gets worse from there he moves to Gotham hoping that was at jazz going to university there and Danny's obsession with protecting people will distract him from dating. It did not. He went for the commissioners son that's supposed to be in prison (I don't know much about him or his age I just know that Gordon had a son that is in prison for some reason)
Vlad is pulling out his hair and as plasmius practically forcing the commissioner to find his son more quickly while venting over alcohol about Danny's horrendous taste in men to which commissioner Gordon pats his back sympathetically.
When they break up he doesn't think it can get worse. Until a year later when Danny introduces him to the red hood who she had been dating for a couple of months. Vlad already feels his eye bags returning as Daniel starts ranting about how the red hood is actually different from his previous partners and that he's actually green flag.
Since the red hood is one of the bats he cannot intervene unless he has solid evidence of something going on. At least the bat will help him if something does happen.
Years later he's at their wedding walking Danny down the aisle as Danny makes a speech about thanking Vlad for guiding him to Jason.
Vlad wants to retire.
i could go on a whole rant about this but its very important to me that I retain Danny's ability to kick Vlad's ass when I'm writing my interpretation of their dynamic. He can and should be able to defeat Vlad.
,,,Just never in his personal/civilian life.
Their relationship is rife with a power imbalance that stems from the wealth/class, social, and age disparity between them. But that only affects them in their human lives due to the society they live in.
When they're ghosts? All bets are off, Danny, even if he struggles with it at first, can and is able to grind Vlad's face into the dirt. When they're dead, they're equals.
The layers to it.
Danny knows he is able to fight against Vlad and can't when he's in public because he's confined by social constraints and conventions. And that's without taking into account his own social standing amongst his peers. And he knows that if he acts out, it'll just rebound back to him and drive his standing with others even further into the ground.
And that's not taking into account the personal connection Vlad has with Danny's family as well, and the way Vlad can just exploit that access to Danny through his relationship with Jack. It'd be very easy to strip Danny of his sense of security and safety by constantly reminding him that, in his human life, nowhere is safe from Vlad for him. Not even his own home. Keep his nervous system shot.
It's the cognitive dissonance as their relationship bounces from being Equals to Not Equals, and the artificial and forced sense of helplessness and powerless that being around Vlad in his civilian life inflicts on Danny.
The most maddening part about it too, other than the fact that Danny knows he has the physical ability to fight Vlad, is that he can stop Vlad in their civilian lives... by revealing what he's done as a ghost.
But that would be at the expense of Danny's own identity as well. They'll both lose everything if Danny reveals Vlad's identity, and there are two ways someone can react once they have nothing else left to lose: they shut down, or they become uncontrollable.
Vlad hasn't attacked Jack outright because he still needs to woo Maddie, so he tries to be underhanded about it. With his chances to woo Maddie gone, there is now nothing in his way from trying to kill Jack right then and there, and putting his all into it. There is little else more important to him than this. He might lose his social power, but he still has power.
Meanwhile, Danny would lose his family, his safety in his civilian life, and a bunch of his security. His friends might be targeted; his family might be targeted. He doesn't have anything to fall back on. And, it wouldn't even guarantee his family's safety either, considering Vlad now has nothing to hold back on.
In the end, the best way to keep everyone safe... is to say nothing. He can't fight Vlad in public, it has to stay behind closed doors.

Am I talking about Vlad, or Danny...
From my Souvenir Shop AU, where Danny's solution to how to make a living as a on-call superhero is to run a Mystery Shack style Amity Park giftshop.
pov you and your half-ghost apprentice are pretty bad at math

10 years after the portal accident, Plasmius came to Fenton's house wanting to take his sweet revenge but then this littlest Fenton found him.
Jazz found that Danny started to talk and laugh to air.
When she tells their parents about it, Jack and Maddie just weirdly ignorant about potential ghost stuffs around Danny as usual and say it's just his imaginary friend.
This big blue gentle ghost brings Danny so much joy! Toys and books about space that his parents couldn't bought for him and plays with him when his sister too busy reading or just annoying to be around. When Plasmius tell Danny his name, he struggled to pronounce it correctly so "Plasmmy" would be the all mighty and scary Wisconsin ghost's new nick name.
Plasmius realized he had gotten too attached to the boy. This can't be! He forced himself to leave the boy after his 7th birthday. After he gave the boy one last gift, he just poof, gone. Danny waited and waited days after days to see his best friend but everyday he's left disappointed, cried in sleep. eventually he just accepted it. Jazz comforted him. He made new friends in school. Days gone normal again.
Danny Fenton, now a 14 years old teenager. His parents brought him and Jazz to their old friend's castle. The voice of this man is weirdly familiar but doesn't really ring a bell in Danny's mind. When he got lost in the castle, he found himself in Vlad's office. There was an oldish kid drawing framed on his desk. it's a drawing of a little boy with his big blue friend. Deep buried memories all came up to Danny. Then he saw the silver-haired man walked in a hurry. Even a bit panicked.
"Why do you have this drawing?" boy asked shakingly.
I need a moment where Vlad is having a piss-baby meltdown monolog moment where hes like "why can't you see me as family Daniel boo whoo* and Danny snaps because the truth is; They could have been family. Maybe not father and son, but Vlad could have been Danny's cool, eccentric Uncle, someone who Danny talked to when he couldn't go to his parents, who helped Danny master his powers, and protect Amity Park, who Danny could call and ask for random homework advice. But that can't happen now, because Danny is terrified of Vlad. Vlad has chained him up, Vlad cloned him without his consent, Vlad put cameras in his house, Vlad has punched him, and kicked him, and slapped him, Vlad has tried to kill him. Danny can't trust Vlad, and sometimes that sucks so much, because sometimes Danny would kill to have an adult in his life that didn't suck, that actually did what they were supposed to do, and looked out for him, protected him. But Vlad wasn't that person, he would never be that person.
Maddie and Jack deciding that “that Wisconsin ghost” actually is a more credible threat than the usual ghost and wanting to go on the attack to get him off their streets and they want Jazz and Danny far away from the house just in case
So they leave them with Vlad for safety

Been a whiles since i animated stuff
I was among those who thought that Dream was making some kind of trap under the bedrock.
what is dreams favourite weapon to use in the cult of the lamb au?
are there any familiar faces playing the roles of the other Gods and shop owners 👀 or is it just dream as the lamb and techno as the one who waits in bigger roles 👀?
(also i dont know if that was intentional but all three posts of this AU have a different tag (dnb cotl au - cotl dnb au - colt dnb au) )
The Axe is the obvious answer but I think he would love the hammer too!
I am not ashamed to admit that I haven't finished playing the game so I won't know exactly who will fit in which role but I did plan for the bishops to be familar faces. The story would be vastly different bc of that haha. So far this is what I have brainstormed (not final):
Bishop Leshy -> Sam (the whole see no evil theme fits the prison arc)
Bishop Heket -> Callahan (speak no evil duh)
Bishop Kallamar -> Sapnap (hear no evil, bc he doesn't give Dream the chance to explain himself in the canon)
Bishop Shamura -> George (think no evil, for how out of it he is in the canon)
Guardian Aym -> Ranboo
Guardian Baal -> Niki
Marchosias (DLC) -> Quackity
Mystic Seller -> XD
Haro (The Owl) -> Phil
Also the tag is me being inconsistent little shit. I apologise and it should be fixed now~
