Covid Summer 2.0
(Model: David Stutz)
For my art piece, I attached a pair of masks onto a pair of sandals using the natural shape of the two objects and thumbtacks. The piece is very simplistic yet represents a more profound message. Although we are soon approaching summer weather and freedom from school work, Covid-19 is still a issue in our society. As our mindset changes from spring rain boots to open toed summer shoes we must stay focused on the ongoing pandemic and protected. The loose hold the thumbtacks provide on the masks represent the lessening of restrictions and protocols and how close we as a society are to breaking free of the pandemic. The fun socks remind us to relax, laugh and find humor a bit to remain sane during these trying times that continue.
