Sporting the idea of shopping hadn’t always been one of glee for Namine. Yet, after some conversations (and some picking on) by her colleagues about her lack of wardrobe as white dresses aren’t always in season, she took the initiative of looking at the local stores. From her limited budget, she only could come out with only so many items she’d actually wear. As a Nobody with simple taste in blue sandals and white dresses, practically being her staple look at this point, she was one not truly invested in trying out new outfits with outrageously new colors.
By the slim luck, the store she went to today had been offering discounts in their last blow-out sale for the season in order to make way for new items. At least, that was what she heard from an employee as all the discounts off were almost too good to be true at first. The blonde had been minding herself, clutching onto her bag readily. Not many dresses did catch her eye and the ones that did often stirred some unease. Call it pickiness or unsureness but, it was something Namine always had.
‘Oh.’ As she paused, her eyes caught the sight of a summery and off-white dress that wasn’t at all bothersome to imagine herself in. While it was a bit away, the woman took no time in stopping in her walk and redirected herself to inspect the dress more thoroughly. The moment she reached out to the dress, a stranger’s hand as well grabbed the other end.
Namine’s eyes widened and she turned her head to find whoever it was who taken interest too. Cocking a slight brow, the younger girl was a complete stranger. She shouldn’t expect knowing someone while shopping with how closed off she is, as is. Yet, something egged on on the back of her head: was she at all familiar? Maybe back in Japan…
“Hello?” Politeness wouldn’t truly serve the conversation. Through the barks of the equally short black-haired teenager, Namine blinks over the swelling irritation in the other. Almost admirable that she could emote that freely. Well, that comes naturally for a human, does it not…?
Despite the inevitable fight, the blonde valued the curiosity more in her mind over the garment. Nice priorities, Namine. “Do I know you? You just seem familiar.” She motions to the stranger’s face and points towards the television. “Were you on TV or so..?”
Nico’s entire demeanor changed as the other girl asked if she had been on TV. Ha! People did recognize her. Finally, she was beginning to think no one here had ever owned a computer in their life. She immediately dropped into her much sweeter persona, acting as if she hadn’t just aggressively addressed the other a few moments ago.
“Oh, you’ve seen Nico before then?” She flipped one of her pigtails over her shoulder and gave her a smug grin. “Of course I was on TV! I was part of one of the most successful school idol groups of all time! μ’s had a concert that was broadcasted world wide with a lot of other idol groups. That was probably where you saw me, although I have a very loyal internet fanbase.” Her next smile was a lot friendlier.
“Nico Yazawa, the cutest member of μ’s.” She glanced at the dress and remembered why they were speaking in the first place. Now she was in a tough spot; she didn’t want to fight over the dress as that would make her seem like a terrible person to a possible fan. At the same time, she also really wanted that dress. An imposse. Letting her hand drop away from the dress, she offered the other a defeated smile.
“Well, I guess I don’t need the dress that bad. It would...look...nice on you.” The compliment was hard to get out as she was beginning to mourn the loss of the dress. “I have a lot of other clothes already...you don’t seem to be having as much luck shopping. Are you not finding anything you like?”
