Rainbow Touch [1 of 2]
I was privileged to be invited to another special dinner at Prime 101 a few days ago. If you've been reading my blog for a while now, you've probably heard me gush about how amazing the food is there. I haven't been back there since the grand opening last year so I was extremely excited to be back.
During the event:
Look at that buffet! I can actually say that I tasted everything on that buffet table and it was so good that I didn't even feel guilty about eating all of it.
I really do love the accent of those bright yellow garden chairs.
After the event:
Stay tuned to the outfit post of this event!
Love,
Nicoliita
Poolside
The previous post, showed the beauty of Fairmont hotel. In this post, I decided to show my activities during my stay.
Instagram photos
Their gym was BEAUTIFUL. I'm not really a gym junkie, so even I was quite surprised that their space made me want to work out. Complete with apples, chilled bottled water, towels and hi-tech machines. Haaaay. If only I could work out like this all the time.
Follow me on Instagram is you haven't yet! @Nicolilala
Besides the gym and swimming in the pool, I didn't get to really do or explore as much. But, I'm not complaining! Some R&R with the family is always good!!
Outfit of the afternoon:
Bikini top from Forever21 | Old black skirt | Payless flats
Props to my daddy who took SLR shots like it wasn't his first time. Hahaha!
After a long wait, I finally got my pool time and full on summer outfit post. Safe to say, I am a happy little girl. Heehee.
Love,
Nicoliita
The Stay
As promised, a hotel themed blog post. One my last hotel post, I stayed at the Marriott Hotel. This time I was privileged to stay one night at the Fairmont hotel in Makati with my parents and my baby sister. This five star hotel did not did not disappoint: the food, service and amenities were all on point! Here are some photos from my overnight stay:
Executive lounge:
As much as possible, our family almost never spends on food whenever we stay at hotels; opting to eat at a nearby mall instead.Which would explain my surprise when my dad told me that we would be having lunch at Fairmont's very own Long Bar. I am happy to report that unlike other hotels, Fairmont's food servings are quite big and trust me when I say that they were scrumptious!

Dazed
During the last week of April, my best friend's sister and one of good friends, Kathryn Alejandrino, celebrated her 18th birthday. Although it was her birthday party, Kate had quite a number of guests to attend to and so we didn't get to have our picture taken together. I actually reblogged an entire photo set of her gorgeous face here.
Photos from the event:
My outfit for that night:
It was a house party, and so I didn't want to be over dressed. Shorts and Nikes always form the chillest combination.
H&M top || NAVA printed shorts || Nike Shoes || Vintage bag || Tissot watch || Necklace was an old gift from the birthday girl

Don't forget to show your mom just how much you love her! Happy mother's day to all the lovely mommas out there!
Oh! And for all my Filipino readers, vote wisely tomorrow!

Graduation
Last week, my older sister officially graduated from the University of the Philippines. Although she technically finished her studies last October, she had to wait almost 6 months before she could march her way on out of college. As seen on my instagram post, I am immensely proud of my sister's accomplishments. Despite all the petty arguments we've had as sisters, I still look up to her at the end of the day. I couldn't be anymore proud of her. I love you, Stef!
Obligatory group shot:
I wore flats to the actual graduation because I knew the ceremony would be long and I'd have to run all over the place taking pictures.
Mango dress || Bvlgari clutch || Sweet Escape Manila necklace || Syrup heels
Dresses with pockets are like the niftiest little things ever! They make me feel like I'm wearing overalls.

Black, White and a Splash of Red
To be honest, I thought I had blogged about this event back in March. But once again my memory has failed me and I forgot to do so! With that said, these photos were taken before, during and after the Psyche year ender. Psyche is the home organization of Ateneo's psychology major students and I just love being a part of this org! And I love dressing up during the events. Following last Christmas' memorable outfit, I wanted to live up the uniqueness of my outfits. And this is what I came up with!
Pre-event photos
A black and white ensemble required a pop of color: red lipstick! I don't wear lipstick so often, but I got to say I really like this particular red lippy. Well according to some research, the original color is more of a rosewood shade than bright red but whatever! Haha. (YSL Lipstick)
I almost freaked when I realized my make up kit was missing luckily my sister-in-law was happy enough to do my make up!
Thanks Trins!!

Ice cream is the BEST way to cool down from all this heat.
Full post in a couple of days!

Finally got to skate again after what felt like a century! It was weird not being able to do my old tricks. But getting back on the ice felt GOOD.
It’s not perfect. But hey, I still got it!!
More photos (and maybe a video) soon!

Happy birthday to my beautiful goofy little sister! You will never have a single digit age ever again. :) I love you to the moon and back again. Happy 10th birthday, Gabs.
Haters Welcome
With the temperature in Metro Manila increasing to about 36C, I cannot see how anyone would be in anything else but a pair of shorts and a regular tee. Even with my hair being so short, I honestly could not stand to let my hair down!
Old Chanel necklace that has been spun around (also seen in this post) || Nike "Haters Welcome" tee || Old ESPRIT shorts || Swatch watch || Sling bag, Christmas gift from Meeks || VANS sneakers
I finally had time to paint my nails!
Current favorite rings: my purity ring and my industrial ring. I already made a short entry about my purity ring a couple of posts ago, but the other ring is also a new favorite! Simply because it really isn't a ring at all. I picked it up at our local hardware store and thought it would look original and cool as a ring! If I'm not mistaken, it's was originally a hose clamp (?). Plus, you can just tighten the screw for a snug fit. I grabbed the idea from Ivania Carpio of Love Astheics. Her minimalist style and DIYs are just amazing!
Almost halfway through summer, and I still haven't been to the beach!! HUHUHU. Hopefully, I'll be able to sneak a roadtrip to LU or Batangas sometime next week!
Love,
Nicoliita

Spring Awakening
According to the fashion industry, spring has arrived. This means florals, pastels and color blocking are now back into the mix. But ironically here in the Philippines, the heat continues to rise as we welcome the beginning of summer! To celebrate both seasons, I dedicated one of my first few days of academic freedom to watching a movie in the cinema (rather than on my laptop, for a change) while sporting a spring inspired outfit.
These photos were taken at my grandmother's home, where we had dinner at later than night. Everything in my grandmothers home has a kind of old Filipino-Spanish feel to it: lots of browns, indoor plants and framed photographs/paintings. With the extra time on my hands, I was able to edit the photos a little in lieu of the whole Filipino vintage style of photographs. (Spotted Miko's birthday gift to me: an Instax camera!)
With my beloved, outspoken and fashionista grandmother. She has a knack for florals and color coding her outfits. The pants I wore that night actually came from her! Thanks, Mommy Chit!
As Miko and I were going to watch "The Croods" (which I highly recommend that everyone should watch), I realized that it would be extremely cold in the cinema. Since I forgot my jacket at home, he was kind enough to lend me his extra shirt so I could wear two layers and not be too cold. Surprisingly, I realized that his high school La Salle Greenhills shirt blended well with the rest of my outfit. TADA! I kinda like the whole boy meets floral mix.

I'm not one to have a million designer shoes or have a never ending closet filled with clothes. And that's okay. :) Style and fashion includes working with what you've already got. Most of the pieces I wore in this post were either something I borrowed or handed down to me. Some of the things I wore, I was actually supposed to give away cause I didn't really like them on the onset. My lola handed down the floral pants to me, but I almost didn't take them cause they were a little short. The necklace from my aunt, I was supposed to give away cause I couldn't figure out how to wear it. But I didn't. I waited awhile and tried mixing and matching things. Now, I've grown to love both items especially the necklace cause it's so different.
When you start to think that you have nothing new to wear, try to remember that creativity comes out when options are limited.

Favorite Things
Can't you just hear Julie Andrews?
"These are a few of my favorite thiiiiings!"
So as hell week has OFFICIALLY ended and summer has officially begun, I decided to celebrate my new found freedom by posting a list of a things that I somehow can't do without this summer.
1. Sunnies by VANS
Courtesy of Yssa Alvarez. She gave them to me as a birthday gift last month and they are amazing! I love them to bits and pieces. The fact that they have a splash of purple is just the ribbon on the gift. With the scorching sun and lots of out door activities ahead, the perfect pair of sunnies are a must.
2. My Purity Ring
When I graduated from my former highschool, we each made the decision to save ourselves for marriage. And with that promise, came a ring to remind us each and everyday of that promise. The original ring I was given back in 4th year, soon became loose due to my loss of weight. Up till the point that I could no longer wear it because it would constantly fall out. Since then, both my parents decided to give me a new one. This time it was thinner, more elegant and lighter than the old one. I absolutely love it. Being that it is a promise ring, I never take it off. But there are so many times that I just stare at it and how it shines when the sun hits it. Haaaaay, it's just so pretty that I could stare at it for hours.

3. iTouch
It may not be squeaky brand new, but it's still my favorite little gadget lately. Ever since Miko got his own iPhone, he seemed to have no further use for his iTouch and so he decided to give it to me instead. I've been a blackberry user for 3 years now and I couldn't wait to get my hand on all those apple apps! HAHAHA.
An iTouch selfie photo with my favorite:
Plus, with the iTouch came a new privilege: Instagram! Feel free to follow me: Nicolilala.
These things may seem trivial to some, but lately these 4 things are the things I can't seem to see my summer day without: a perfect pair of sunnies, my sparkly new ring, the functional iTouch and last but certainly not the least, the ever fun filled Miko. :)
4. People
(Stolen from Miko's instagram)
Summer is the time to catch up with your friends, go on roadtrips and go on adventures. Without people to spend it with, let's face it summer would just be BORING. I for one, am not the adventurous or spontaneous type of person. But luckily with adventure buddies like him, I'm slowly but surely letting myself have some fun without over thinking things.
"I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad!"
I admit that there are times where I feel like my life is uneventful or I start to become complacent. But my mother always taught me that whenever you start to feel down in the dumps, start to count your blessings and slowly the world will start to seem brighter. When life gets you down, just remember to count your blessings no matter how small or trivial they may seem.
Oh! I am happy to report that I have actual outfit posts just waiting to be uploaded. I will post them soon enough.
Till then, HAPPY SUMMER!
Love,
Nicoliita
