Today is the first workday Monday of 2018. There are 52 weekends in a year, which tallies to 104 days. That’s 28% of your entire year. Many of you have shared with me that creating beauty content is your side-hustle outside of your full-time job. Well sis, you’ve got over 100 “free” days to get that content cracking! Instagram now lets you follow hashtags! I have had this feature for about a week now, and yesterday it was announced to all users on Instagram's blog. I have followed two hashtags so far, and I'll admit, it takes time getting used to seeing content from people you don't personally follow.  (I was like, "Who is this??" when those first few hashtag posts showed in my main feed! 🤔) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ BUT this is a GREAT incentive for us to begin using — and creating— hashtags for our posts. I have a few branded hashtags (and hopefully they won't get jacked!) such as #beautyinfluencercoach and #beautyinfluencerschool. Start thinking of your own unique tags you can create as a strategy to get your content in front of more followers. Think of them as the "tags" you would use on your blog to pool similar content under one click. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Will you start following hashtags? Chime in below! 👇🏽

A recent study by Open Influence surveyed 400 influencers with 75K to 500K followers and found 78% of them were self-managed.  The VAST majority of influencers surveyed handle their own content calendars and brand deals.  (And if most influencers with upward of 75K followers are self-managed, I am SURE that influencers with smaller audiences are nearly 100% self-managed!) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm often asked if Melton Digital provides blogger management, and after considering it (a few times) the answer is, no.  Instead of managing you and taking up to 30% of your profits, I would MUCH rather equip you with the tools and knowledge to self-manage... so you keep 100% of your fee. Give a man a fish, he eats for a day... Happy Monday! Transparency moment: the month of November wiped me OUT. I'm literally just now coming up for air! I launched a new course, moved my entire office (more on that later), and this week, I'll be DONE with finals (I'm in the Master of Divinity program at Howard). Whew! I *think* I've done all the damage I can do. (But time will tell when those #CyberMonday deals drop!)
