I will say whilst I'm glad morality OCD is getting talked about a lot more lately I'm dreading the eventual "autistic sense of justice" treatment it's inevitably going to get. The morals in morality don't have to be and often aren't correct and even when they are having it doesn't make you more likely to actually act on those morals.

The idea you can obsess compulse yourself into being a good person is why your brain is tormenting you like this in the first place. Do not try and make your mental illness righteous do not treat it like good person who's too nicies disease or infantilize people over it.

I tried distracting a vampire by throwing rice at him, but I only had two grains with me so it didn't work. He counted them instantly. A big issue with online queer discourse is you never know what queer level your opponent is. You could be arguing about he/him lesbians with someone who thinks men can’t be bisexual

the history of men envisioning themselves as women in marriage to God is like fun and interesting for queer theology mainly because it tells us that our conceptions of gender and sexuality aren't stagnant. and sometimes it may genuinely reflect something we would name as queer today. but quite often they had these visions because they viewed women as inherently subordinate to men, so to be subordinate to God made them women. I'm extremely leery of continuing this kind of experience uncritically.

God is not masculine. Lord, Father, King-- these are all titles given to God to express that God has ultimate sovereignty, from times and places when men overwhelmingly held all sovereignty. (At the time that Father was added in the new testament, the Roman paterfamilias had ultimate power in the family.) There are other feminine images for God, as well. Jesus longs to be a mother hen (Matt 23:37) and God births and comforts Israel (Isa 42:14, 49;15, 66:13), among many more. Julian of Norwich and Bernard of Clairvaux both used feminine and mothering imagery for God. Ultimately these are metaphors for God; God is beyond human understanding and we require an unending supply of metaphor to describe God.

God does not have a gender. Gender is a box for categorizing and controlling humans and God cannot be categorized and controlled. At the point at which you think you understand God enough to put God in a box, you have created an idol.
