Gazing at flowers, The colours fading away, Deep in the mountains.
— Haiku by Nidhish Shirur
Just me and the moon, We spend our time in silence, Alone, growing cold.
— Haiku by Nidhish Shirur
June parts, so do I, Like a candle in strong wind, Rekindle my life.
— Haiku by Nidhish Shirur
Empty sound of rain, Moonlight dancing on waters, Life wakes up again.
—Haiku by Nidhish Shirur
I am a slave of my own thoughts. I cannot fight back, nor can I run away. I am trapped inside a cage, Like a bird waiting for it's freedom. You can only hope, you can only dream. Because you know it too, That no one will ever hear your scream.
-Nidhish Shirur
I come to the lakes and sit on my usual spot:
There are sounds but no noises.
There are thoughts but no voices.
There are options but no choices.
A peek inside my mind. What are we supposed to do here? There are thoughts running like horses in an open field. The air is getting cold. I feel the wind piercing through me; or perhaps it's something else:
A hole in the sky.
A hole in the heart.
You might not be perfect,
But you are art.
-Nidhish Shirur
You close your eyes and see an image. An image of the waves gushing by the shore. You watch them as they rise up and down, high and low. However much they try to reach the shore, they always return back. They're almost there, they try hard, but it's never enough. It's never enough, just like the thin blanket on a cold windy night. However much you cuddle in, it's never warm enough. From the moment that you're born to the moment that you die, they're just enough to cover your face.
-Nidhish Shirur
"You are poetry personified and I will recite you until the day I die"

OMG OKAY YAYAAY!!!
Your blog is so pretty tho. I am jealous!!
so is yours!!!
It was many and many a year ago,
In a kingdom by the sea,
That a maiden there lived whom you may know
By the name of Annabel Lee;
And this maiden she lived with no other thought
Than to love and be loved by me.
I was a child and she was a child,
In this kingdom by the sea,
But we loved with a love that was more than love—
I and my Annabel Lee—
With a love that the wingèd seraphs of Heaven
Coveted her and me.
And this was the reason that, long ago,
In this kingdom by the sea,
A wind blew out of a cloud, chilling
My beautiful Annabel Lee;
So that her highborn kinsmen came
And bore her away from me,
To shut her up in a sepulchre
In this kingdom by the sea.
The angels, not half so happy in Heaven,
Went envying her and me—
Yes!—that was the reason (as all men know,
In this kingdom by the sea)
That the wind came out of the cloud by night,
Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.
But our love it was stronger by far than the love
Of those who were older than we—
Of many far wiser than we—
And neither the angels in Heaven above
Nor the demons down under the sea
Can ever dissever my soul from the soul
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
For the moon never beams, without bringing me dreams
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And the stars never rise, but I feel the bright eyes
Of the beautiful Annabel Lee;
And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side
Of my darling—my darling—my life and my bride,
In her sepulchre there by the sea—
In her tomb by the sounding sea.
One of my favourte love poems.
