I don't feel anything reading comfort food escapist fiction anymore, like I did early in my transition or throughout my years in the closet

You probably know what I'm talking about. Those slightly embarrassing "e-novels" and webcomics that acted as wish fulfilment for baby transes and gays that felt alone and afraid and needed an outlet. Titles like:

"My gay boss turned me into a girl"

"I discovered google and it made me trans"

"I ate a lot of soy beans just to see what happened (IM CIS BTW)"

It's not because I'm content with my life now. I'm not. I'd love an emotional outlet. I just don't know how to process wish-fulfillment. I lost the desire to wish for something happier. Richer. Deeper. Soulful. I can't dream beyond my life anymore. It won the war of attrition.

The often ignored experience of going through "second puberty" is you eventually grow numb to the changes just like the first go around. You become a boring adult like everyone else. Go figure :|
