Niels Mori

Niels Mori is a multi-instrumentalist musician from Lille (FR), proposing minimalist and neo-classical music. His work is based on loops, keyboards and guitar, with an affinity for deep and hypnotic melodies and sound textures.  In 2015, Niels Mori organized three european tours, and played in twelve different countries, from France to Russia, to finally record his last solo piano album "Aftonland", co-produced with the french music store "Quelque Part Records, in december, in Moscow.

Commonly translated into "Lands of night", "Aftonland" is also a book of poems by the sweden writer Pär Lagerkvist, during which he tries to capture in words the feelings which overrun ourself in the "lands of night".

This album is the result of the same belief, and these nine tracks should be considered as the expressions of particular, but common feelings.

"Aftonland" has been recorded on december 3rd 2015, at the "Central Children Art School of Moscow Area", by Andrey Borisov, with the precious help of Anna Voskoboynikova.

“Ngâu” is the second EP by Niels Mori, and is released in march 2014, only one month after the first Mori’s album “Varinka”.

In this album, the idea was to work on sweet and deep sound textures, and to be as minimalist as possible, contrary to Varinka.

“Varinka” is the first album by Niels Mori, released in february 2014.

This album has been designed like a kind of imaginary soundtrack for an imaginary movie. Among the six tracks, we can find repetitive songs and sounds, but not only. The main part of this work was to make you forget you’re listening loops and overdubs, to offer you hypnotic sounds and evolutions.

Væ Soli is the first EP by Niels Mori, recorded and released in september 2011. The main idea for this EP was to work on sound textures and sound designing to create some deep and emotional atmospheres. Also, it was an essay to describe the solitude that everyone can feel, in the first hand, and to try to give a look on the human non-sense.
