I'm gonna be moving soon and have to find extra sources of income. Considering opening my patreon again to fund a monthly tarot card until I make the whole deck and a monthly tattoo flash design set as a reward. If there's anything else you'd like to see let me know 👀
I'm selling my Imogen fan comic in my etsy shop https://www.etsy.com/listing/4483112471/imogens-dream-8-page-comic-5x75in?ref=shop_home_active_1&sts=1&logging_key=950d95dd32324d40116b32386482d5da1e02986e%3A4483112471
I’m vending in Artist Alley booth L-10 at C2E2 this weekend! See you there!

For the ballpoint pen commissions, will they be digital or will you be sending the physical drawing as well? Either way I would love to commission you, I just gotta wait for payday
I would be sending a physical copy!
Just having fun drawing these
i highly doubt i will ever in my life be able to afford going to MICA (its nearby just costs too much) BUT. what was it like if you dont mind sharing?
Some of the best artists I know did not go to school for art and they're almost completely self taught.
Art school is good for only two things, learning how to constructively critique your own work and others AND finding balance within making a job out of something you love. In school you're taught to endlessly churn out work despite your emotional state. So I can rely on that skill to just produce work even if I'm not emotionally invested. I have a longer interval in between burn out and I can notice my burnout faster and take a break before my body takes a break for me. This last part you learn on your own, school doesn't teach you that.
MICA was okay... I have a lot of complicated feelings from the experiences I had. The illustration major was a mess during my years because of the person in charge. I honestly wished I had just gone to SVA for comics.
I regret a lot of my time at MICA and felt like I wasted a lot of my time on classes that were requirements that didn't teach me what I needed/ wanted to learn. But I because I went to an art school I have I think more perseverance to get a job done even if I don't want to do the job if that makes sense?
Art school is also good for making friends in your field. The people in your major aren't your competition they are people to learn from and cheer on. They are the people who will get you recommendations for jobs more than any great looking resume. Word of mouth will always get you a job better than an email to an art director.
My advice is to go to a school that offers the courses you're interested in and that challenge you to develop your skills. Not at how top rated a school is. I also advise that if you have the drive to learn on your own it's incredibly possible to be a self taught professional. If you have the means, start vending at comic conventions, you will learn so quickly the secrets of the trade and meet a range of people who will give you best advice and help you progress as a better artist.
End of the day taking to an art director they are more likely to hire you based on a recommendation from someone you've made a connection with rather than how top rated the school is that you got into.
Sorry that was a lot, I hope this was helpful and of course this is all my own opinion. I'm happy to answer more questions if you have any.

Knightingale. Or Occtien
(if you need me I'll be busy SCREAMING. THIS IS AMAZING)
@morgan-owo you can't just keep having perfect responses and leave them in the tagssss
I would also like to add the idea of Occtis lying on top of Julien because:
1. Occtis can hear and feel Julien's heartbeat under him and that keeps him calms 2. Occtis can match Julien's breathing 3. Julien is really warm 4. both of them are touch starved blorbos who need to be held 5. it stops Julien from having nightmares when he can hold Occtis
